Mike is approached by a national sports magazine to be interviewed for a cover story about life after football. When the reporter starts speaking to his family he is surprised by the final outcome of the article.
Adele sets her son Chill up on a blind date with a Social Worker acquaintance. In the meantime when she brings a different female friend from work home Mike asks her out specifically against Adele's wishes. Coach's team is on a winning streak and he has some weird superstitious behavior that drives Adele crazy.
When Adele's sister Cynthia ends up in Mexico because of a fight with her husband, Coach and Adele have to try to figure out a way to get them back together. Meanwhile Mike and Chill are trying to figure out how to get into a special Christmas party.
Coach's bother Maurice is released from jail after Cousin Kenny helps him. Maurice has been a problem in the past but has turned into a pretty good guy. Mike makes a play for a new waitress at the restaurant and Jimmy Johnson makes a cameo appearance.
Mike makes some surprising discoveries about himself and his brother after the two make a bet that Mike can't spend a week in a wheelchair.
Mike has another shot at playing in the NFL and his financial crisis may be coming to an end. The only problem is he has to pass a physical in two weeks and gets Coach and Chill to help him get in shape. Meanwhile Mom in her role as Principal is meddling with a students decision to try to play pro baseball.
A former rival and Mike get together to do post-game commentary.
Coach's High School football team is on a big losing streak so he fires his current assistant Chill and hires Mike to help with the team. At the bar the boys have a new hostess who gossips to attract new customers. Nancy O'Dell and Kim Kardashian appear as themselves as well as Clarence Clemons of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band.
Adele's sister, Cynthia, and her husband, Lenny, come to visit. Meanwhile, boxer Mike Tyson stops by Trainor's.
Mike wants to find the money his agent stole so he hires a relative who use to be an ex-con played by Snoop Dog names Kenny who's now an attorney. Chill explains that Kenny is family so he will do the work for free upfront. Kenny meets with Mike and wants 40% of the retrieved money which of course Mike has to agree too. Mom in her role as Principal of the school approaches Coach to get him to pass a heavy set kid who is no good in sports. She wants him to pass PE so he can help the school win a scholastic competition.
The brothers bickering reaches the point where they have lost five bartenders in the space of the last month. Mom comes up with a plan to get the boys working together. She volunteers to be the new bartender. She figures they will have to get together to get her to leave eventually as they will hate having her there. She ends up liking it too much and changes the clientele, the workers, and finally the food. Meanwhile Coach is playing with his model trains and attending Tresselmania with Charlie a friend from out of town.
Mom keeps betting the boys that she and Coach can beat them bowling. The only problem is she won't pay up when she loses each time. She uses her position as their Mother to sway the situation to her side. Coach forgets their wedding anniversary and of course he is in the dog house. So he must devise a way to get back into Mom's good graces.
Mike comes home because his Mother has told him that Coach, his Dad, had a stroke. Chill is not happy as he still holds a grudge against Mike for his car accident that left him partially paralyzed even though his brother had nothing to do with it. Getting Mike home turns out to be a ruse to get he and his brother speaking and saving Chill's restaurant.
