In the Watcher's Guide Vol. 2, It states that Anya's made up name is Anya "Emerson." (edit)
Anya's made up full name is Anya Christina Emanuella Jenkins. (edit)
As well as a Watcher's Council, there also seems to be a governing body of Witches where registered magick users receive a Magical Proficiency accreditation; both of which Willow and Tara know nothing about. (edit)
Although the soap opera Passions is largely targeted toward teens of Dawn's age group, Dawn herself doesn't seem to be a fan; while her mother apparently is. (edit)

Anya: (Describing herself) Anya Christina Emanuella Jenkins, 20 years old...born on the fourth of July--and don't think there weren't jokes about that my whole life, Mr., because there were. 'Who's our little patriot?' they'd say when I was younger, and therefore smaller and shorter than I am now. (edit)
Quentin: Yes, excuse me, you work here?
Anya: Yes, I do. Ever since I moved here from south-eastern Indiana where I was raised by both a mother and a father. (edit)
Tara: Are you sure they're English? I thought English people were gentler than normal. (edit)
(About the watchers coming)
Buffy: They put me through that test, and it almost killed me. And then, when I was Faith, they almost killed me again. Honestly, I really can't handle almost being killed right now. (edit)
(After throwing a sword at Nigel, just barely missing his head)
Buffy: I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions. (edit)
Buffy: Glory. I wanna know.
Quentin: Well, there's a lot to go through.
Buffy: Just tell me what kind of demon I'm fighting.
Quentin: Well, that's the thing, you see. Glory isn't a demon.
Buffy: What is she?
Quentin: She's a god.
Buffy: Oh. (edit)
Jinx: She's short, symmetrical, hair on top. Buffy something.
Ben: Buffy Summers is the Slayer?
Jinx: That's the one! Very clever of you, sir. (edit)
Buffy: We are talking about two very powerful witches and a thousand year old ex-demon.
Anya: Willow's a demon?! (edit)

Trivia

Also in the first scene, just after they figure out Dawn was listening in, Giles disappears from the corner behind Willow, then suddenly re-appears when the camera changes angle. (edit)
It would be highly unlikely that Giles or Buffy would tell the Watcher's Council about Spike's relationship to the Scoobie Gang, so it seems odd that the Watcher's Council is interviewing Spike. Considering the Council's position that they don't help vampires under any circumstances it would seem that they would attempt to kill Spike on sight. (edit)
At the Magic Box when one of the Watchers walks behind the counter where Anya is she has both arms down and off the counter. The scene changes to show them with Giles and Travers and Anya's left arm is suddenly bent and resting on the counter. (edit)
In this episode we find out Giles is paid for being Buffy's watcher. (edit)
When Jinx goes to talk to Ben you can see that he is already cut up and when he goes back to Glory he seemes to still be cut, just deeper and more noticeable. (edit)
In the first scene you can see Willow laugh at something and then hide her face to try and cover it up. (edit)
In the first scene, Willow appears to be staring at something off screen. (edit)
In the first scene, the sleeves on Buffy's shirt continually move back and forth of their own accord. (edit)

Buffy: (to the Watchers) You can't do anything with the information you have, except maybe publish it in the Everyone Thinks We're Insanos Home Journal.

This is most likely a reference to the women's magazine “Ladies Home Journal.”
The magazine was first published in 1883 and is still in circulation today.
(edit)
Spike: Passions is coming on.

Passions is an American soap opera that debuted in July of 1999 on NBC. It follows the romantic and supernatural events of residents in a fictional New England town and is known for its far-out storylines. (edit)
Professor: Now, Rasputin was associated with a certain obscure religious sect.

Rasputin was a monk in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He belonged to a cult that believed the path to salvation was to sin. Rasputin was favored by Czar Nicholas and his wife Alexandra because they believed that he was the only one who could heal their son, who had hemophilia. Although said to be charismatic, he was unkempt and was also known for his episodes of drinking and womanizing. He was murdered by a group of aristocrats that believed he held too much influence over the Czar. First they poisoned him; when that didn’t work they then shot him, beat him, and finally drowned him.
(edit)
Lydia : Its removal from Burma is a criminal offense, and when triggered, it has the power to melt human eyeballs.

Burma is a independent republic country in Southern Eastern Asia now officially known as Myanmar. Burma is slightly smaller than Texas and is bordered by Thailand, India, and the Bay of Bengal
(edit)
Orlando: The Knights of Byzantium, an ancient order, and now your enemy.
Byzantium was the name given to the Eastern Roman Empire and its inhabitants in the middle ages. The capital of Byzantium was Constantinople, known today as Istanbul, in Turkey. Byzantium's existence is typically considered to have been between the 7th century and 1453 when Ottoman Turks conquered it. Byzantium was a staunchly conservative and Christian Empire, and produced several crusades against the Muslims. (edit)
Travers: We assume you're familiar with the Japanese name for the Aikido and Jujitsu moves?
Jujitsu is the weaponless martial art of the Samurai warriors, and dates back to about 2,500 years ago in Japan. It is often described as "The Father of All Japanese Martial Arts" since other arts have been derived from it, including Judo and Karate.

Aikido, another derivative of Jujitsu, was created by Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969). Aikido employs holds and locks and uses the principles of nonresistance in order to debilitate the strength of the opponent. (edit)

Anya: Born on the fourth of July
The fourth of July is the USA's Independence Day, the anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the Second Continental Congress (July 4, 1776) from the British Empire. Although Congress actually approved the resolution of independence from Britain on July 2 and the Declaration was not publicly read until July 8, it was on July 4 that the Declaration was drafted by Congress.

Born on the Fourth of July is also a 1989 Oliver Stone film starring Tom Cruise. (edit)

Buffy: There's also near-consensus about Columbus, you know, until someone asked the Vikings what they were up to in the 1400s, and they're like 'Discovering this America-shaped continent.'
Christopher Columbus was regarded for a long time as the discoverer of the North American continent, although many historians now no longer think this is true. However, European colonization of the continents of America only began due to his discovery. Setting sail from Spain, he first made landfall in the Bahamas on October 12, 1492.

The Vikings were warrior seafarers from Scandinavian countries such as Greenland, Norway, Finland, etc. Their seafaring navigation methods were the most advanced of their time and there is evidence that the Vikings may first have discovered the North American Continent as early as A.D. 1000. (edit)

Buffy: ...without a Slayer, you're pretty much just watching 'Masterpiece Theatre'.
The reference is to the long-running PBS series, which specializes in the presentation of high-tone dramatizations and adaptations of the classics of English literature. (edit)
