  • In the scene where Andrew challenges Xander in the alley there is a sound effect that shouldn't be there. The sound of a sword being removed from a scabbard or sheath is heard as Andrew puts his sword to Xander's chin. The sound is heard again as Jonathan puts his sword to Andrew's ear. Both of them are carrying their swords openly and nothing they do accounts for the sound heard. edit »
  • When Willow appears at the Police station an officer gets out of his patrol car and points at her with his right arm. The camera changes to a side shot and the officer is now pointing with his left arm. edit »
  • In the opening scene at the Police station the wall clock says 12:26. The scene moves upstairs where the jail cells are and that clock reads 12:20. edit »
  • Between the time that she leaves Xander, Anya, Jonathan, and Andrew at the Magic Box working on protection spells and and the time that she finds Willow cornering Dawn at Rack's lair, Buffy seems to have pulled her hair back and curled the tendrils framing her face. It seems odd that she would take the time to fix her hair when the world is in danger of ending. edit »
  • Only someone into the "big bad" can find Rack's place because it is cloaked. But Buffy manages to charge in without any trouble. Unlike when she needed Spike's help in Wrecked. edit »
  • Instead of the usual "Previously on Buffy" recap narrated by Anthony Stewart Head this episode featured Nicholas Brendon telling viewers "This is what happened this year". edit »
  • "Two to Go" was not originally envisioned as being paired with "Grave" and being a 2-hour season finale event. UPN made the programming decision to couple the episodes. edit »
  • Anthony Stewart Head is not credited in the guest cast list until the end of the episode to keep the viewers surprised to see Giles back. edit »
  • The title is a clever little continuation from episode 20, where the last line of the episode is, "One down." edit »
  • Like the opening episodes of this season, the finale 2-parter initially aired as a single 2 hour episode. edit »
  • Willow: You're trying to sell me on the world? The one where you lie to your friends when you're not trying to kill them? And you screw a vampire just to feel? And insane asylums are the comfy alternative? This world? Buffy it's me. I know you were happier when you were in the ground. The only time you were ever at peace in your whole life was when you were dead. Until Willow brought you back...you know, with magick. edit »
  • Johnathan: She killed him?
Anya: She killed him, ripped him apart, and bloodied up the forest doing it. And you're next.
    Andrew: Oh my God... Warren!
Johnathan: Oh my God... Me! edit »
  • Andrew: Why are you helping them?
Jonathan: Because they're saving our lives, you moron! edit »
  • Andrew: We can be a duo, you and me. You can even be the leader. I swear, I'll take orders. I like taking orders. Just tell me what to do.
Jonathan: You want an order? Grow up! edit »
  • Rack: When you first came to me, you were just a little slip of a girl. Look at you now -- so growed up. So full of dark juice. And you still taste like strawberries. Only now... you're ripe. edit »
  • Andrew: A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
This is the opening text for every film in the Star Wars series by George Lucas. The text is designed to convey the setting, create a storybook feel that is almost mythic, and is reminiscent in wording and visual style of the old movie serials. edit »
  • Andrew: Laugh it up, Fuzzball.
This is a quote from Empire Strikes Back. In the film, the character of Han Solo says this to his furry co-pilot, Chewbacca. Chewie was laughing at Han, who had just been insulted by Princess Leia. edit »
  • Johnathan: Are you kidding, she's like Dark Phoenix up there and you just expect us to outrun her?
Jonathan compares Willow's rage and power to the comic book villain Dark Phoenix. Jean Grey (also, coincidentally, a redhead) was a mutant with the powers of telepathy and telekinesis. After her apparent death, Jean was "reborn" as The Phoenix, having bonded with a cosmic entity of incalculable power. The Phoenix said that it was "fire and life incarnate." Months later, the illusion casting Mastermind seduced Jean through a psychic rapport hoping to use her powers for his own gain. She eventually broke free, but the exposure to such evil had twisted the once pure Phoenix Force. Jean transformed into the Dark Phoenix, a creature of pure power and destruction. edit »
  • Andrew: We've got maybe seconds before Darth Rosenberg grinds us all into to Jawa burgers and not one of you bunch has the midichlorians to stop her.
From George Lucas' Star Wars series, midichlorians are micro-organisms which exist in all living things. A Jedi has many more midichlorians in his or her body and they give the Jedi their powers.

"Darth" is the 'title' given to a Sith Warrior (eg. Darth Vader and Darth Sidious); and Jawas are the scavenger people who live on Tatooine. edit »
  • Spike: Here we are now, entertain us.
This is a line from the Nirvana song Smells Like Teen Spirit. edit »
