Welcome to the Button Moon guide at TV.com

Button Moon featured the adventures of Mr. Spoon, who in each episode would take off in his home-made rocket ship with his family; Mrs. Spoon and their daughter Tina Teaspoon to Button Moon which floated in blanket sky.

Once on Button Moon they would have various adventures meeting creatures on Button Moon before heading back to Junk Planet. They would often use their telescope while on Button Moon to spy on creatures on other planets.

The characters of the show were made out of everyday objects - paper, buttons, bottles, spoons, tins, etc. and were animated by puppeteers who wore black outfits to blend into the dark background of "blanket sky".

The Spoon family (named so because all their arms were made from wooden spoons), lived in a house made out of a cardboard box for walls with a scrapbook roof a paint-pot for a chimney-pot, and knitting needles for a tv aireal, even their furniture was made from Junk; a old Tea box for a dresser, a candy box for a bed with a powder puff pillow, and a table made out of a old jam jar lid with pencils for legs. Even their rocket was made from junk; a plastic funnel for the top, a baked bean tin for the middle, and a sponge pudding tin for the base.

The Spoon family lived in Treacle Street on Junk Planet.

The show ran for seven seasons between 1980 and 1988, it lived on in tv cult-dom thanks to it's memorable theme song and distinct style until NickJr picked it up in 2005.

i have to admit this was one of the main shows i watched when i was a child mr spoon and his family in the space ship made from a Heinz Beans can, imaginative! but, u always saw the hand puppets on black screen, but its a classic show you cant forget

Button Moon is one of the few shows I remember watching and adoring when I was a kid. It starred Mr. Spoon and his family (Mrs. Spoon, and their daughter Tina Teaspoon), every show they would take off in their rocket ship toward Button Moon where they'd meet an array of distinct characters, the one I remember most of all who I recall was in almost every episode was a Vacuum Cleaner who would get into all sorts of trouble. The show had a very distinct style unlike any other out there, all the characters, sets, and scenary were made from regular stuff you'd find around the house. The show has a underlying message of recycling and being creative, without being over the top and actually saying it. In other words, instead of hearing the message, you saw it. I'm glad NickJr decided to pick this show up, who knows, maybe there's a chance I will be watching this again with my kids 5-15 years from now. :)

A totally classic the series stared Mr Spoon and his family Mrs Spoon and Tina Tea Spoon they lived on junkyard planet each week they travel to button moon which shone in blanket sky. They would get there by travlling in Mr Spoon's spaceship which was made up of a bakebean tin. Once they landed they would meet all sorts of charcters such as Captain Large leader of the bottles , ragdoll , vacum cleaner. Once the adventure was over they looked through Mr Spoon's telescope where they would look at all sorts of things such as broom the witch. Currantly this show is being shown on nick junior at 8.45pm
