Entertainer Hank Shannon is to provide him with information from an upcoming meeting of top syndicate gang lords set to be held in the Las Vegas home of burned out mobster Marcus Jackson. Shannon learns the information for Cain, but it's up to Jackson as to whether he'll remain in one piece.

A lobbyist in league with a mobster tries to prevent a bill to build a private racetrack from passing the State Legislature.

Ed Pavanne is a dying mobster who's last wish is to see his estranged son before he dies. Pavanne's brother, Vincent, finds the son at a midwestern college going by the name Rick Carter but the young man refuses to have anything to do with his father. Vincent Pavanne then concocts a devious plan to force Rick's hand.

Mobster Mike Colonni was deported from the United States to Corsica after being convicted on an extortion charge. Now, Colonni wants to re-enter the United States. Cain travels to Corsica to make a recommendation regarding the mob leader's re-entry and discovers that the man hasn't exactly been keeping his nose clean while in exile.

Attorney Nicholas Cain, a former mob lawyer, is attempting to clean up those involved with organized crime, and has suspicions of a respected businessman, who Cain thinks was involved in several killings.
