The class is on a field trip at the aquarium. At the penguin show, a penguin and the trainer become trapped in a "whirlpool". Fortunately, Tori shows up and saves them both by pulling the whirlpool apart. Kero teaches Sakura of her ally cards, Windy, Fly, and Shadow, and about the elemental cards. Meanwhile, Sakura is troubled over the safety of the aquarium. Sakura goes to the aquarium, with the intention of capturing Watery but meets Julian there and they both have ice cream in the restaurant by the fish tank. Madison and Kero follow along, filming. The fish tank breaks, releasing water all over the restaurant. Sakura is trapped underwater, held by the whirlpool of the Watery card. Julian is able to break down a door, causing the release of the water in the restaurant, allowing Tori to rescue Sakura. Julian makes a comment, giving Sakura an idea to capture Watery. That night, Sakura, Madison, and Kero sneak back into the aquarium. At a water tank, Sakura challenges Watery and is chased by it. Sakura leads Watery into the basement, and calls on Windy to pull Watery into a freezer, where it reveals its visible form, then freezers, enabling Sakura to capture it. (Contributor: MirrorCard)
Sakura's class is at the aquarium. Her group comments that Sakura found a new friend as Sakura puffed up her cheeks to act like the puffer fish they were checking out. After the group checked out a couple more fishes, Chelsea calls them for the penguin show.
They go and watch the penguin do tricks with their trainers. Suddenly one of the trainers gets caught by a whirlpool under water. When one of the penguins goes to examine what was going on underwater, it gets trapped by the whirlpool. Everyone is panicking, even the other penguins. Tori comes with two buckets of fish and asks what was going on. The trainer that was caught by the whirlpool tells him that a penguin is trapped underwater and that her foot is caught too. Tori quickly jumps underwater and grabs the whirlpool. He stretches it apart, breaking it, and frees the penguin. Everyone is relieved and the penguin seem to thank Tori for his help.
At home, Sakura is making pancakes and Kero is anxious to eat them, but she complains that he wasn't even listening to her about what happened at the aquarium. She tells him that a penguin and its trainer nearly drowned because of a whirlpool and that they said that the drain plug must have come out. She tells him that she never saw the water level change, but Kero doesn't seem to be listening. He starts begging Sakura for a piece of the pancakes and Sakura finally gives him one. He seems really happy as he takes his first bite. Sakura tells him that it wasn't like water running out of a bath tub and that it was more like something else. Kero acted like he didn't hear anything and he asks her if she was gonna eat all the pancakes. She nods and as soon as she does, Tori comes into the house. When Sakura turns around, Kero eats as much as he could from her plate before she turned around again. She quickly grabs Kero and throws him up the stairs as Tori walks past her. She congratulates him for saving the penguin and the trainer, and she asks him what he was doing there. He tells her that he was feeding the penguins and that now it was his turn. He took a forkful of her pancakes and shoves it into his mouth. Sakura is annoyed and yells at her brother because that was hers.
When she gets to her room, Kero seem pretty mad at her because she didn't bring him any leftovers. Sakura apologizes and Kero tells her that even if the drain did open, it shouldn't have had enough power to keep both the trainer and the penguin down and that it must have been something else. Sakura quickly catches on and realized it was The Water card (The Watery). Kero explains to her that Clow Reed created four element cards that were more powerful than the rest. Earth, Fire, Wind and Water. He tells her that all four are dangerous and difficult and that water especially has a wild nature. He tells her that she has to use her most powerful cards to help her and that she should concentrate on Windy, Fly and Shadow and that she can use any two in combination. She asks him why and he explains to her that they were the first three cards that she captured, which makes them her strongest allies. Sakura has a flashback about The Windy, The Shadow and The Fly. In the background, Sakura tells us that Windy was the first.
In the flashback about The Windy, Sakura opens the book of Clow and she takes the first card out. She reads the letters that she could see, "Windy" and that's when the card was summoned. It lets out a huge wind that summoned all the other cards and blew them away. In the next flashback (about The Shadow), Sakura uses the key of Clow for the first time to release the wand. She uses it to summon The Windy to fight all the shadows that were going to attack her. She uses The Windy to help capture The Shadow. The third flashback of The Fly, it shows a huge bird chasing Sakura, who was trying to get away from The Fly on her rollerblades. She skates up a ramp like wall and jumps onto The Fly's back. She holds on as it flew into the air and when she regained her balanced, she used The Windy to weaken it. The Fly had no choice, but to land and Sakura quickly captures it.
The next day in school, Sakura is trying to decide which combination she should use because she knows she can only use two and no more in combination. She goes over to a fountain and asks herself how she could capture water. Madison tells her that the answer will come to her soon and she tells her worried friend not to worry about it. On the way home, Madison tells Sakura that her mom got free samples on the newest cell phones. She gives Sakura a cell phone and Kero one too. She tells Sakura that they might come in handy when she's capturing a card. Right before Sakura got home, she remembered Kero telling her that he couldn't give her any advice because it was another test. She suddenly got an idea of going to the aquarium to find the answer to her question, since The Water card was there.
She gets home and calls Madison on her new cell phone and tells her about her idea. At the aquarium, Julian tells Sakura that he was hungry and that he'll buy her an ice cream. Kero and Madison are under cover filming Sakura. (It's a wonder how no one notices a flying stuffed animal with glasses) He tells his partner that she should keep filming and that he'll get them some ice cream. (It's more like a joke because he can't get his own ice cream) Inside, Julian is starring at fish and Sakura asks him about the ice cream because she's afraid of The Watery. A kid comes over because he saw Kero and came to pet the "teddy bear"(Kero) in Madison pocket. Kero threatened the kid, which was a shock because he had no idea Kero was alive. Julian orders the ice cream and suddenly the glass holding the water cracks and water comes out flooding the cafe. Madison and Kero sees Sakura drowning from a higher level, but there was nothing they could do. Sakura sees a whirlpool holding onto her leg and she realizes it was The Water card. Tori searches and calls for Sakura. Julian takes an ax and breaks a door, which caused all the water to drain out. Tori finds her and carried her up the stairs to the next level, where Sakura finds Kero and Madison there. He thanks Julian for saving his sister. Julian comes up to her and tells her that they'll have to take a rain check on the ice cream and that there's nothing like a swim to "cool you off". Sakura finally realizes how to catch The Watery just from his remark.
That night, Sakura is sneaking into the aquarium with Madison and Kero. Sakura phones Madison with the cell phone and asks if she found it. Madison tells her that it was in the basement, right where she thought it would be. Sakura challenged The Watery and it goes after her. She tells Kero toe get back and she uses The Fly to get away. She gets The Watery to follow her all the way down to the basement, where she used The Windy to open the door to the freezer. The Windy pulls The Watery to follow it straight into the freezer, which froze The Water card. Sakura takes the wand and seals The Watery. Kero tells her that she choose her allies well. Kero tells Madison that there us still one thing they have to do. Madison asks him what and he tells her that they have to get themselves some ice cream and a triple scoop sundae for Sakura.
