The RaceEpisode Number: 30 Season Num: 1 First Aired: Saturday August 26, 2000 Prod Code: n/a |
The Dash card is in the public park and it seems like it's resting. It gets up and starts to run away because Sakura, Kero & Madison are trying to capture it. The Dash dashes off into the woods with Sakura flying after it on her wand. Sakura quickly uses The Windy card on The Dash. The Dash tries to fight The Windy and struggles to get away. It was able to dash across a wall and into someone's porch. Sakura runs toward the spot where The Dash fell. She tries to climb over the wall and realizes that she should have used The Jump card to get over the wall. Suddenly a police officer comes around the corner and they (Kero, Sakura & Madison) quickly hide behind a bush. The police officer looks around and Sakura knows there's no way she could get The Dash. Sakura doesn't want to leave, but Kero tells her that The Dash is weak and won't be going anywhere for a while. A girl opens the backdoor because she heard something outside. Her mom asks her if anything was outside, but the girl tells her mom that it was nothing. She sees The Dash and thinks it's a cat. After she realized that The Dash was hurt, she goes inside and gets bandage wrappings. She wraps up The Dash's front legs and tells it that she has never seen an animal like it before. The Dash squeaks back at the girl in delight.
The next day, Sakura wears a baseball uniform and throws a baseball into the yard where The Dash fell the night before. She goes and pretends to retrieve the baseball, but when she gets to the gate she finds out that it was Jesse's house. The same girl that found The Dash the night before and also a friend of Sakura's. Jesse gives Sakura the ball and tells her that she didn't know that there was a baseball game that day. Jesse apologizes because she can't come watch Sakura's game. She explains that she just came home from practice and that she is training for the big track meet coming up. Sakura leaves and meets up with Madison, who knew immediately that Sakura didn't retrieve The Dash.
That afternoon, Sakura and Madison are watching Jesse train for the track meet and to get a qualifying time. (It's for the 100 meter dash.) The second time Sakura watches Jesse run the 100 meter dash; she feels some kind of power coming from Jesse. (We see Jesse start to glow before she runs.) Jesse finishes first and broke her own personal record.
Later, Sakura and her friend, Madison are at Jesse's house. Jesse is celebrating all the good luck she had since she found a strange animal who she calls Hoppy. She tells Sakura that just to be able to run in the school track meet is what she dreams about. Kero stares at the cupcakes in front of him and whispers that he dreams about cake, but he knows he can't eat it because then Jesse would know he's alive. Jesse tells her friends that they have to meet Hoppy, but Sakura declines the offer because she knew that The Dash would run away if it saw Sakura. Sakura makes up the excuse that it would be bad luck to show a good luck charm. She and Madison leaves Jesse's house.
Sakura tells Kero that The Dash card must be having some effect on her friend because she never "burnt up the track" before. Kero tells her that The Dash card is getting stronger and that she has to seal it soon.
Back at Jesse's house, The Dash is shivering and Jesse wonders why it was so scared.
At practice, Jesse runs the 100 meter dash in only 13 second which was a school record. (That's really good for a 12 year old.) Jesse qualified for the track meet and Sakura and her friends are surprised.
Later Kero tells Sakura that she can catch The Dash card when Jesse's at track practice. Sakura tells the guardian beast that she won't and that she'll wait until the track meet is over. She explains to Kero that Jesse thinks The Dash has some effect on her and that's why she's doing so good. Kero tries to make Sakura realize that she has to seal the card.
At home, Sakura's father talks to her about Jesse and tells her that winning the track meet could mean a lot to her.
The cheerleading squad are cheering for Jesse when The Dash uses its magic which Sakura quickly notices. The other cheerleaders are watching Jesse and are amazed at her speed. In a classroom, Meilin thanks Li for helping her carry the books. Li suddenly feels the power coming from The Dash, but when he looks out the window he doesn't see anything there.
Jesse is at her house and she tells The Dash that it was the best thing that ever happened to her. In another scene, Sakura is walking down a street while Kero is trying to convince Sakura to capture The Dash card right away. They see Li with the Lasin Board. The Lasin Board finds out where the card was and Sakura knew Li was going after the card. Li runs off and follows the light caused by the Lasin Board while Sakura is trying to catch up with Li, with Kero on her shoulders and Madison right behind her.
At Jesse's house, The Dash is showing her that it was very healthy by jump up and down. It jumps up really high and lands on the fence/wall. Li sees The Dash and Sakura does too. The Dash sees the Cardcaptors and runs away. Li attacks The Dash with his lightning attacks, but The Dash is too fast. It runs toward Sakura and Kero tells her that she should seal it because it wouldn't be right for Jesse to cheat. Sakura seals it and the card goes to Li. We see Jesse calling for her pet, Hoppy. Li realizes why Sakura didn't seal The Dash right away and he understands.
At the track meet, Jesse is walking slowly to the starting line because she is upset about Hoppy. Before the race started, Jesse sees Hoppy at the finish line which looks like a hologram. Jesse runs and wins the race, but before she does, we see Li returning The Dash card back into the card form. Sakura runs and finds Li with The Dash card. She asks Li if he used The Dash card to help Jesse win, but he tells her that he couldn't believe she thought that. Li leaves and Sakura thinks Jesse won the race with her own abilities. Sakura and everyone else starts cheering for Jesse.
