(edit)
Caroline: Richard, you're married now. You have to learn how to compromise. You have to give some things up.
Richard: Like what? My dignity? (edit) Richard: What are you doing here anyway? It's Wednesday. Shouldn't you be crawling around on all fours with your tail up?
Annie: No, I'm not in Cats anymore.
Richard: I wasn't talking about Cats. (edit) Annie: I'll just go home and finish reading The Grapes of Wrath.
Caroline: I love The Grapes of Wrath. When did you start reading that?
Annie: Eighth Grade. (edit)

Annie: (to Richard) Good luck Tin Man. I hope the Wizard finds your heart.
This is an allusion to the musical film The Wizard of Oz (1939) based on the novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. (edit) (Richard takes off his jacket and reveals a hilarious futuristic shirt) Annie: What the hell are you wearing?
Richard: It's a present from my wife. And I like it.
Caroline: Well, live long and prosper.
(Caroline and Annie are doing the Vulcan salute)
The Vulcan blessing and its typical hand gesture is used by the half-Vulcan Mr. Spock, a character in the sci-fi series Star Trek. The Vulcan salute has become a sign among Trekkers all over the world. (edit)
