It was confirmed on GMTV by Simon MacCorkindale that he is leaving the show. He will finish filming at Christmas before going to to appear in 16 week theatre production of Slueth.

Simon has only recently returned to the show following a five month break. He has been with the show since June 2002.

Simon MacCorkindale who plays Harry Harper is to take a short break from the show to play the role of Michael Starkwedder in Agatha Christie's 'An Unexpected Guest'. The play will tour the United Kingdom for six months starting in Windsor on January 9th and ending in Glasgow on June 4th.

Simon is expected to be back on screen in summer 2007.

Actress Georgina Bouzova who plays nurse Ellen Zitek and Actor Ian Bleasdale who plays paramedic Josh Griffiths will both be leaving the show. Georgina will be going this Christmas and rumour has it Ian will be leaving then too.

Ian Bleasdale has been in the show since 1989 and has been in more episodes than Derek Thompson, who plays Charlie Fairhead, who has been with the show since series 1. Ian has be involed with storylines like his characters dying in a fire, dangerous driving and a gambling addiction.

Georgina Bouzova joined the series in 2004. During her two-year-stint on the show she has been invovled in storylines like blackmailing her step-sister's boyfriend Abs into marriage and more recently her traumatic cancer ordeal.

Neither characters exit has been revealed but from the sounds of it both will be unmissable.
