Catherine Bethany Hicks double majored in Theology and English Literature at Notre Dame University and attended Cornell University where she earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in acting. Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, she now lives in Bel-Air. with her husband (Kevin Yagher, special effects artist) and her daughter Catie (born in 1992). Catherine is a strong Catholic and she's left-handed.

After attending Saint Mary's College (Indiana), across the street from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, where she studied theology, Hicks began a career in acting. She first rose to prominence as Dr. Faith Coleridge on the soap opera Ryan's Hope, a role she played from 1976 to 1978. In 1979, she was one of the leads in the television version of The Bad News Bears and in 1982 she took the lead role in the comedy/detective series Tucker's Witch opposite Tim Matheson. Supporting roles in movies followed, with appearances in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home as Dr. Gillian Taylor, and Peggy Sue Got Married as Carol Heath (both 1986), but it was the role of the mother in the movie Child's Play (1988) that first established her as a name in Hollywood. The next year, she starred opposite Tony Danza in She's Out of Control.

In the first half of the 1990s, Hicks found acting work in the form of made-for-TV movies, but it wasn't until 1996 that she got another popular role. She was cast as preacher's wife Annie Camden on the drama 7th Heaven, which is arguably her most famous role to date. 7th Heaven is currently filming it's tenth and final season, making it the longest-running family drama on television. I know Catherine Hicks from 7th Heaven the best. In 7th Heaven, she was just absolutely amazing. She has such talent, and I personally dont think that anyone in the world could have played Annie Camden better on 7th Heaven than her. Catherine Hicks has such talent and I think that she did a great job on her character, Annie, in 7th Heaven. I love watching 7th Heaven and I just love the parts when Sam and David, played by Nikolas and Lorenzo Brino, were little because of how Annie and Eric, played by Stephen Collins, approached dealing with them and how sneaky they were, i thought it was so cute. Catherine just has amazing talent and I have plans of seeing movies or tv shows she is in because I just think she has great talent.

Catherine Hicks is best known for her role on 7th Heaven. She plays Annie Camden, a busy mom taking care of her husband and seven children. Catherine Hicks has also been in movies such as Child's Play and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. She is so convincing and has a lot of energy on-screen. Her character on 7th Heaven is mostly where I know her from. Her character is a funny, yet surprisingly serious mother, who handles a lot around the house, whether it's doing laundry, cleaning up or solving problems involving others. Catherine Hicks plays probably the best TV mom of all time! I love her and her acting and she gets a 10 out of 10 from me!

catherine hicks is a new kind of wonderful. she has done so much with filming, and then trying to stop the crisis in the sudan and darfur, and she is just simply amazing. she is thoughtful, generous, a wonderful actress, and just a well rounded human being. on top of that, she's well behaved...she's not like any of the other celebrities we see in or on tabloids with columns about "how they got arrested" or "what parties they went to over the weekend". like i said before, she's a wonderful well rounded person, and can't wait to see more from her. great job catherine hicks. i'm proud of you for all that you did and are doing, and keep up the good work, you're amazing.

I love 7th seventh. The only thing is that Catherine Hicks acting is so fake. In any kind of scenes that are scared and sad, I hate her acting. You can really tell that she trying to play a role and not showing a really character. I find it really boring because her acting is that bad. The rest of her acting is ok just those scene and it is not just one and a while I have scene almost every eposied of 7th Heaven and I is everytime that there is that kind of scene. I still can't stop watching 7th Heaven because of her I love the show. Just her really bad acting scenes I have to deal with them to watch others peoples amazing acting in the some scenes.

Good Character, has a great sense of humor, and she is very beautiful. She plays her character so well, she is exactly how i picture a mother on a tv show, too bad 7th heaven cant go very much longer because i will miss her acting, hopefully she will be in some movies, or in anothr tv show, she is like one of my all time favorite actresses.
