In 2008, Catherine was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie for An American Crime. (edit) Catherine has been nominated for six SAG awards. In three different years, she was nominated for both Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for the same movie. In 2000 the movie was Being John Malkovich. In 2006 the movie was Capote. In 2008 the movie was Into The Wild. (edit) Catherine Keener is 5' 8" tall. Catherine Keener: Most times when people pitch you as being perfect for a part… they don’t look at you as an actor who can transform. A lot of people are so literal. (edit) Catherine: My favorite roles are the ones that I can add a little of my own personality into, If I find that I have nothing in common with the character, I will refuse the role. Maybe the similarity is as minute as we both like to shop! There. A common ground. (edit) Catherine: I am a well-adjusted star, in my opinion. I don't let it go to my head, I focus on the normality of my daily life, and take the big days as they come. My heart is content with my husband and son. (edit) Catherine Keener: Well, for one thing, I like being a supporting actress. I like to come and go in the film. The interesting characters are very few if you want to be the lead, and they depend on you being beautiful. Since I'm not interested in those parts, the pressure's off, in a way.
