Charles Rocket, alias Charles Claverie, Charles Hamburger, Charles Kennedy and Charlie Rockett, spent the formulative 1970s as a television news reporter/anchorman. He jumped from station to station, not keeping ground. Finally, in 1979, he submitted a video of his news reports to Lorne Michaels, producer of Saturday Night Live .

A more extensive tribute to Rocket came from radio personality and friend Brandon Vogt on WXCM-FM 97X. Vogt said, "Charles Rocket was a man who will be remembered for his great sense of humor and always someone of style and personality. He will be missed."
