Charlize was ranked #11 in Maxim's Hot 100 Women 2008. (edit) In 2000, Charlize was nominated for a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Theatrical Motion Picture for The Cider House Rules. (edit) Charlize announced on The Late Show with David Letterman on May 12, 2008 that she just recently became a US citizen. (edit) Charlize was honored by Harvard University for her skill at writing. Charlize: (revealing she feels "unsexy" when she is too underweight) I played a woman with cancer in Sweet November. I went down to a size 6 and I felt completely uncomfortable. I remember being cold and wrapping my arms around my body and feeling ribs and bone. I felt totally unsexy. (edit) Charlize Theron: I have always known [that marriage is] not something for me. Even when I was a little girl, I never dreamed of the white dress and all of that. (edit) Charlize: (on not attending the 2008 Acadamy Awards) We are not going to the Oscars this year. I don't think you go to those kind of awards unless you are nominated. I think it's special if you get a nomination, or your film does. Then you go. But we don't have any nominations or anything like that in the house so we sit in our jammies and watch it on the couch. (edit) Charlize: (on the movie “Reindeer Games“) That was a bad, bad, bad movie. But even though the movie might suck, I got to work with John Frankenheimer. I wasn't lying to myself - that's why I did it. I mean, he directed The Manchurian Candidate, which is like the movie of all movies. (edit) Charlize: (after obtaining her US citizenship) I know what I am now, too. I'm American. I grew up in a country that learned the lesson that you can't impose your way of life on 26 different kinds of people just because you call yourself righteous.
