- Nitpick: When Diane returns from the bathroom after fixing her hair, it has been transformed from a frizzy, disheveled mess from riding a motorocycle, to a perfectly coifed, straight 'do. Her make-up has also been redone. Since she was only gone about 30 seconds, it seems highly unlikely that she would have had time to get her hair and make-up so completely perfect in such little time. edit »
- First appearance of the recurring psychotic character Andy "Andy-Andy" Schroeder (played by Derek McGrath), who would appear 3 more episodes (not including the 200th anniversary episode.) edit »
- David Lloyd received a 1983 Emmy nomination for Best Writing in a Comedy Series for this classic episode. edit »
- Diane: (to Sam, upon learning of how she was set up with Andy) You hired a murderer to take me out on a date?! edit »
- Diane: I've been hungry for Italian all day. What do you say about an Italian restaurant?
Andy-Andy: Anywhere but Theomilano's. That's bad memories for me. I killed a waitress there.
Sam: (to a horrified Diane) We'll double [date]. edit » - Sam: At least my dates don't count the number of letters in a sentence.
Diane: Your dates can't form sentences. edit » - Andy: What if she doesn't like me?
Sam: It's okay, she doesn't like anybody. edit » - Norm: Sam, watching you prepare for a date is like watching a great matador prepare for a bullfight. edit »
