As a child of the 80's, I fondly remember so many shows that I love and miss. The children's shows today just don't compare!

Here were some of my favorites:

    Adventures of the Little Koala
    Care Bears
    Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers
    Denver, the Last Dinosaur
    Duck Tales
    Alvin and the Chipmunks
    Cabbage Patch Kids
    David the Gnome
    Darkwing Duck
    FooFur
FRAGGLE ROCK (just got that on DVD)
    Gummi Bears
    Heathcliff
    Inspector Gadget
    Mario Brothers
    Muppet Babies
    My Little Pony
    My Pet Monster
    Pound Puppies
    Punky Brewster
    Rainbow Brite
    Strawberry Shortcake
    She-Ra Princess of Power
    Smurfs
    Snorks
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    X-Men
    Wuzzles
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe
    Scooby-Doo
    Teddy Ruxpin
    Winnie the Pooh
    Shirt Tales

    Those were the days...so innocent!

Uh, some of those shows(Bullwinkle & Scooby) were from the 70s.

You missed some excellent gems such as, well, Jem, The Legend of Zelda, Get Along Gang, Today's Special, Pinwheel, You Can't do that on Television, Popples and Voltron.

I always thought the show was called "Kissyfur", not "Foofur". Anywho, horrible show, though.

And someone else recalls the Wuzzles...I'm impressed.

Actually, "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?" originally aired in 1969. Then, "The Scooby Doo Show" aired in 1976. However, there were seven Scooby Doo series in the 80's, including:
    "Scooby Doo Classics" (1981)
"The Scooby Doo and Scrappy Puppy Hour" (1982)
"The Best of Scooby Doo" (1983)
"The New Scooby Doo Mysteries" (1984)
    "Scooby's Mystery Funhous" (1985)
"13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo" (1986)
    "A Pup Named Scooby Doo" ( 1988 )

So, many people consider Scooby Doo to be a series from the 80's since it was primarily shown in the 80's and since seven "new" series popped up in the 80's.

Also, "KissyFur" (1986) and "Foofur" (1986) are two different series.
"Foofur" was about Foofur, a blue hound dog, who inherits his deceased owner's mansion and has his dog friends come live with him.
"Kissyfur" was about a pair of father and son bears who escape from the circus.
I never watched "Kissyfur" but I did watch "Foofur."

I watched Super Mario all the time. I forget...which came first...the video game or the show? I'm guessing the video game but I'm not sure.

I'm impressed. I honestly don't remember Foofur and I watched Saturday morning cartoons in the 1980s too.

As I recall, the Super Mario game was released stateside in 1985 and the cartoon(which was also with "The Legend of Zelda") aired in 1987.

I absolutely loved Care Bears! I hated Gummi Bears, though. Muppet Babies was also a favorite of mine. But I didn't get to see any of these until about 1992 since I wasn't even born until the very end of '88!

I plan on buying the season DVD's to most of those shows so my "future" kids can watch the best kids shows ever made! Not too many kids shows on right now can compare.
