Christopher "Chris" Brown was born on May 5th 1989, to Clinton Brown and Joyce Hawkins, in Tappahannock, Virginia. He's been writing and producing his own songs since he was 14, which was around the time that he discovered he even had a voice. Due to him singing in a talent show and actually winning, the school and his family were blown away by his voice and encouraged him to take it as a profession. He eventually did, he found a label which was the same as Ushers but didnt quite make it onto it. They rejected him! So Usher than called Chris and told him to keep his head up, which was a big shock for Chris(thats his idol), and he went to Jive records. He bounced out in the music game in Summer 05 with his hit single, "Run It." In November, he followed up with his second single, "Yo" and then in Late March he came out with "Gimme That." It has been suspected his next single will be either "Poppin" or "Young Love" which are two very good songs off of his CD.

Chris: (on his relationship with Rihanna) Our relationship is growing. We started off as friends and we're getting a little bit closer now. My mom is real cool about it all. They both have light skin with green eyes, so...but I don't want to let down all my girlfriends, so all the ladies out there, I still love y'all!
(edit)
Chris: Since I'm always working, my best holiday memories are definitely when I can just go home and spend time with my family.
(edit)
Chris: Sometimes, they'll be talking about me on the Internet, but I don't even look at it. And if it's negative, then I don't listen to it.
(edit)
Chris: When I was 12, all I wanted for Christmas was a trampoline or a four-wheeler. I ended up getting both presents for Christmas.
(edit)
Chris: I like low-maintenance girls, but at the same time, classy. She needs to take care of herself. But also be a girl who isn't afraid to get sweaty and play basketball, so it's cool if she's a tomboy.
(edit)
Chris: The worst moment was when I was performing and I was about to sing, but I choked. I had a tickle in my throat and I started coughing, and I couldn't get the words out. It lasted for like thirty seconds, but I got over it, and luckily the crowd didn't seem to care.
(edit)
Chris: I used to feel so shy speaking to girls. It was even worse when they were around their crew because they would diss me.
(edit)
Chris: My best kiss was on stage. Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child gave me a really nice soft kiss on my lips during a performance on my birthday. It was amazing.
(edit)
Chris: Follow your dreams. Just make sure to have fun too.
(edit)
Chris: (about his mother) We're like brother and sister. I tell her everything.
(edit)
Chris: Haters keep on hating, cause somebody's gotta do it.
(edit)
Chris: I love sneakers on a girl. I don't know why, but I guess it's because I'm still a young. I really like just like a girl who has style-a girlwho does her own thing, is unique in what she's wearing and works what she's got.
(edit)
Chris: Loving is doing anything for them, thinking about them constantly and being able to spend your whole life with that person. Liking somebody is just like, 'Okay, I like them because of this, this and this, but I don't knkow if I am ready to be in love with them'.
(edit)
Chris: With dates I like to cater a girl. We do whatever she likes. If she was open to what I wanted to do, it probably wouldn't be a dull date, because I am a jock.
(edit)
Chris: With fame, you can't trust everybody. You can't depend on them being there for you as a person. They will only be there because of what you've got you as a person. They will only be there because of what you've got and what you can bring to their life. It's not a relationship-it's a leech.
(edit)
Chris: My mother taught me to treat a lady respectfully.
(edit)
Chris: I love attention. If I see a gang of girls? That makes me dance even more!
(edit)
Chris: I didn't understand that I could sing until I was like 11 or 12. My mom heard me singing around the house and she said, What are you doing? You really can sing! So then I started going to school and singing to the girls.
(edit)
Chris: I used to feel so shy speaking to girls! It was even worse when they were around their crew because they would diss me.
(edit)
Chris (About meeting Usher): At first, I was like, Yo', that's Usher! But as I got to know him, he was just a regular person like me. He's great, and when we work together, the chemistry is there.
(edit)
Chris: I think I can beat Usher on the dance floor
(edit)
Chris: My song 'Yo' is about asking a girl for her name, number and if we could talk awhile. I'm trying to be a gentleman about it.
