Christian decided to go into acting while he was in college. After he decided this, he quit college and took a chance on himself and moved to Los Angeles with basically no money. His first role was in the 1997 movie Fame L.A.
1999 was a big year for Christian. He was in two films, Rescue 77 and EDtv . Also that year, Christian landed the role of Lindsey MCDonald on the show Angel ....

Christian: If you move to L.A. because you’re good looking and you think you’re going to be a star, you’re an absolute moron. This is the land of beautiful people. It was just pure luck. Christian: I have very loving parents. My parents are the greatest in the world. My mom should actually get an award, I swear to God. She's probably the best mom in the entire world. My dad's just a country boy, so that's the way I grew up. He wasn't afraid to use force, and he wasn't afraid to give me a kiss. He's a great guy. (edit) (Christian on landing his first acting role)
Christian: It was six months after I got out here. I knew no one. I came out with nothing but my truck and some clothes, when I was 21. The second audition I got was for ''Fame L.A.'' and the character was supposed to be a comedian. I said, ''I'm not really that funny, but here's what I can do, I can sing. And I can. I've sung backup for my cousin, Brandon Hart, who's a country singer in Nashville. So they made the character a singer. (edit)
