Christian: (on his nickname while growing up) I dated a lot of women who called me Thumper. I don't know why.
(edit)
(on how going to prison changed him)
Christian: It was a pretty clear-cut message that I had taken a wrong turn. In a way it was an incredible intervention. I was given an real opportunity to step outside my life. It brought everything into focus. (edit) Christian: It's weird to watch movies I made when I was younger. I don't handle it well, it's like I need to take a shower after watching one. I think about where I was at the time and all that shit comes up in my head. (edit) (on London theatre audiences)
Christian: London audiences are more attentive and really react to the moments in the play. London audiences also really know how to laugh and enjoy themselves. Swimming with Sharks has a lot of laughs in it and you hear the audiences' reaction every night. It's fantastic. (edit) (on being in "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" in London)
Christian: I grew up in the theatre, started in the theatre, and when I got the opportunity to do this play last year I was a little worried because the movies were so popular. But it was actually my mother (Casting Director Mary Jo Slater) who said 'C'mon, screw it, just go out there, it s a great opportunity – to do something in the West End is the highest thing you can do as an actor', and fortunately I agreed with her and came over and did it. It was a phenomenal experience and it's been an equally if not more wonderful experience this time. (edit)
