Arachne is a spider who once was challenged by Athena at a weaving competition--- but a jealous Athena turned Arachne into a spider, and now Arachne wants to be human again. Using Atlanta, Arachne lures the Heroe's into a trap, and their only hope to escape is to wake Atlanta from hypnotism--- but will they be able to do it in time?

Jay: Archie, have you seen Atlanta?
Archie: H-how should I know? It's not like I keep tabs on her. Cuz that would be weird...weird and obsessive.
(edit) Cronus:Pay attention when I yell at you! (edit) (Atlanta, pretending to still be hypnotized, leads Archie with a pitchfork back into Arachne's cavern)
Arachne: Where were you?
Atlanta: This one tried to escape.
Archie: Atlanta...
Atlanta: SHUT UP! (she shoves Archie to the ground)
Odie: We're hooped! (edit) Atlanta: He may be a dirtbag, but I can't let you eat him. (edit) Neil: Yeah, she was in his face! He was all 'nobody talks to me like that!' and she's like 'well, what're you gonna do about it?' (edit)

When all are aiming for the targets during the archery portion of the exam, it shows the both Archie and Odie are left handed. Then when Atlanta shows up late, she too is left handed.

It's ironic that Odie can't hit the archery target because his ancestor, Odysseus, was very skilled with a bow and arrow.

The actual legend of Arachne was changed in this episode. Arachne was a young girl who was too proud of her skill at weaving. In fact, she was so proud, she challenged Athena to a contest at weaving. Arachne weaved stories of the gods and their lives into her work. The spectators that had gathered to judge this challenge were sure that Arachne would win, even though she was up against the one who invented the spindle, but Athena rose to the challenge. She "gathered the rosy fleece of the sunset, and the first blue and silver strands of starlight, and wove scenes of the world's creation".
The spectators knelt and worshipped Athena for her handiwork, and devestated at being defeated, Arachne took her own life. Athena took pity and changed her into a spider, a "little creature wo spins the hours away but does not brag about it."

Make-up ExamSuperb "Cleverly plotted" I enjoyed this episode it was sympolic to how females are subjected to demeaning and annoying actions by not only men but society. but not only women but any member of society who is percieved as weak due to their physical attributes.
