She's All That

Joan's dramatic descent down the staircase after Cleo gives her a makeover is a reference to the movie She's All That. (edit)
Gandhi: "You let the dogs out, J-Slice! Whazzap! [..] You can't touch this!
Gandhi is using several out-of-date slogans and trends. Who Let the Dogs Out is a song from 2 years ago by the Baha Men. Whazzap?! is a Buddweiser commercial from 3 years ago. You Can't Touch This is a song from 13 years ago by MC Hammer. Gandhi is also emulating a move Trinity uses in the beginning of The Matrix, which was 4 years old. (edit)
Magazines
During the episode, several people are reading magazines such as Kosmo, Med Journal, SciFi Gore, MZ, and Vanity. These are real magazines, such as Cosmo, The Medical Journal, Ms., and Vanity Fair. SciFi Gore is probaly Fangoria. (edit)
Abe: You know, Cleo, prom is an important time for all teens. For example, it's where we all lose our virginity.
This is a reference to the movie American Pie. All four of the main characters vow to lose their virginity on prom night, and they all succeed. (edit)
John Stamos and Rebecca Romijn-Stamos
John Stamos is a famous television actor, who beat Scudworth for Prom King in highschool. Rebecca, a supermodel and an actress, is mentioned by Scudworth, because at the time this episode aired she was currently married to John. (edit)
