1. Countdown

Community Score

8.9 Great
First aired: 7/25/1990

While a fun-run for charity is taking place at Arlington Grange, Elizabeth Peacock's new fiancé, the dashing Count Henri de Beauchamp, is the centre of attention. This is even more so when it turns out that the late Count (for of course he gets killed) was not quite who he claimed to be. But who killed him, and why?

2. Deadly Disco

Community Score

9.0 Superb
First aired: 8/1/1990

A local landowner comes up with a predictably unpopular scheme for filling in the Arlington village pond to build a night club on the site. The "Stop the Disco!" action group is due to see the villain of the piece at the Grange to confront him with its objections, but of course there is a fatal turn of events... and (as usual) it turns out that there were other possible motives for the killing.

3. A Bridge Too Far

Community Score

8.9 Great
First aired: 8/8/1990

For three years in a row, Elizabeth Peacock and her daughter Vivienne Scarlet have won the competition for Arlington's Bridge Trophy. With the aim of dethroning the champions, Professor Plum brings in his acquaintances the Hopes, a pair of card-sharps. However, the Hopes are too hopeful for immediate hard cash, and one of them goes off to an early reward in the great beyond. There is, of course, more to the Hopes than meets the eye - and we need to find out how Plum came to know them at all.

4. Going, Going, Goner

Community Score

8.8 Great
First aired: 8/15/1990

Peregrine Talbot-Wheeler is an expert on art and the presenter of a television programme about antiques, and Elizabeth Peacock has invited him to the Grange to value some of her possessions. In his last few seconds on earth, did Peregrine get a brief chance to conduct his final assessment of a Billiard Cue, an Antique Pistol, a Sword, a Bow Tie, or a curious Paperweight?

5. Politician's Funeral

Community Score

8.7 Great
First aired: 8/22/1990

The local Member of Parliament has died, and Mrs Peacock hosts a wake at Arlington Grange. Michael Mustard and Peter Plum's employer, Chapman, are among those bidding to be selected for the vacant parliamentary seat. Chapman quickly begins to indulge himself in a little blackmail in pursuit of victory, and his demise is surely no great mystery...

6. A Fête Worse Than Death

Community Score

9.1 Superb
First aired: 8/29/1990

At the annual St George's Day fête at Arlington Grange, the invited guest is Bernard Kirkbride, an actor, while an unidentified visitor in a dragon-suit is found to be Constable Jones, who has been called in because last year's takings were stolen - but why does sudden death arrive under the dragon's very nose?

Special. Christmas Past, Christmas Present

Community Score

9.3 Superb
First aired: 12/26/1990

Richard Forrest is Elizabeth Peacock's guest for Christmas dinner. His father, a retired judge, is the previous owner of Arlington Grange, and Richard hopes to get the estate back for himself. It turns out that a number of those present have appeared in the dock before Judge Forrest, and young Forrest has blackmail in mind. A dead body, predictably, is soon discovered - but it isn't Forrest's, it's the body of Ken, the chauffeur. All must be revealed...
