I think this is one of my favorite episodes of cold case. The story is that of forbidden love between two women, one white one black that takes place during the prohibition. This Cold Case so it doesn't end well. Lilly and Co find a car long sunk into the river. They find a body inside and soon are immersed in a mystery of forbidden love when they track the car back to a a young man who sold booze to the local black clubs. They later discover that his sister might have been the one in the car when they find out she disappeared on him after a fight but soon after find out things aren't that simple. It wasn't her the car. The truth is far more complicated, and far more tragic.
The episode is at its tragic best and has one of the most classic lines I have ever heard on it. Rose: "I wonder if it was wrong, the feelings I had for her."
Lilly "No it was just the wrong time."

Loved the episode! From the interesting and well-written story line, to the amazing poetry, and talented actresses, this movie left me feeling both happy and unbelievably sad. Tessa Thompson did a wonderful job; it really showed her versatility and authenticity as an actress.It was a romantic story that wasn't mushy or unrealistic; it was well-paced and, although the situation was a little far-fetched, it had a definitive authenticity to it. Also, maybe I'm being a little dense, but did Rose and Billy plan to commit suicide, or did Billy die accidentally? The ending seemed a little disappointing if they committed suicide, but I guess it did add to the emotion of the episode.

I saw this episode the first night it aired and it has stayed with me ever since. The story was fantastic and kept you guessing. I loved the flashbacks going back to the 30's. The story is something that we can still relate to in this day and age, but it also really makes you think about how hard life was for certain people back then. Being gay african american, or part of an interracial couple. The poetry really helped set the mood and along with the music, took you back to another time. Amazing episode. I give it a 10 out of 10.

After a drag of the last two episodes, this one really hit me hard. It was just a terrific episode in all aspects. The characters were great (both past and present) and it takes you quite deep into these people's lifes enough to care in the end.
It's always the loved lost stories that seem to be the saddest ad this one was no different. It's about a love that begin in exactly the wrong time and wrong place.
I thought the story was written quite well to explain everything that led up to the body in the car in the river. Much like most of this series, it started out with the very beginning of what was to be the end of this young girl's life.
It was also nice to see how much things have changed from 1932 to now. Both with the characters and society at large. The writing was fantastic in the sense that it made me feel like these two women really loved each other and it was quite sad to see one of them go and one of them stay.
This is an episode that definitely should not be passed up!

This is my favorite episode of all, when I saw it...
A find amazing the capacity of expressing her feelings like she did, the poems are from the heart.
They wanted to be together, they were in love in a time that wasn't ready for it.
The beginning:

The loving:

The fighting:
