    I don't really have much time to post on the boards but I just had to come here and voice my opinion about the "new guy" on Cold Case. And let me just say...HOT DAM! I have been a fan of Bobby Cannavale's since his Third Watch days. In fact, my viewership ended when his role ended. Over the years I've seen him in a few things here and there, (Snakes on a Plane), but he's one of those actors you're constantly asking yourself "why don't I see this guy more"? I can't articulate it easily but I've always felt that his presence brings such an authenticity to whatever role he's playing. I almost fell off my couch last night when I saw he would be joining the show.

    I don't know about anyone else but I'm happy that he will be appearing on a weekly television show again because at least I know that every Sunday night, come hell or high water at 9:00pm I can turn on CC and he's gotta be there because it's his job to be. Assuming of course that the "reality show" nightmare of the night doesn't run over. I just hope he gets a decent amount of airtime to make it worth his wild and the studio's. Whatever the case, consider this fan one happy camper!!!

    Yay, that's great news. I like Cold Case, but there isn't a character that's smoking hot. Now with Bobby Cannavale on board I'm gonna enjoy watching the show even more. He is sex on legs, I love him.

    You know, I'm not sure I really like the idea of him coming to CC - for however long they keep him. To me, I just don't think he's necessary, you know? I kinda like the ensemble we have now and I don't think the show needs gimmicks like this guy comin' in to mess around with things to get people interested. It's almost like there's no room for him. I like it the way CC is.
    Now don't get me wrong here, I do like Bobby Cannavale. He's an awesome actor (I used to watch Third Watch and was so upset when he died), I just don't think he is needed in the office of CC. I suspect, however, that his character will likely only be around for a short amount of time (like Josie Sutton was) if only to cause friction and then leave.

    Maybe this won't be the same repeat as of Lilly's many breakups maybe she'll get stronger be a more happier person after this

    She actually laughed last week. How long has it been since that happened? She's getting there, slowly but surely. She's healing. And this process is not going to be helped along by some half-developed side character.

    True I think Scotty really is better suited for than this guy, why bring him in at all then?

    Perhaps Lilly will see what mistakes that caused all her breakups. Or maybe this relationship will just end up as friendship. That wan be a possiblity but maybe make Lilly realize who she really is.

    I'm still hoping that she and Scotty get together. As Scully from the x-files said" The best relationships come from Frienships".

    Couldn't agree more. I see him just as a "distraction" or whatever you would call it to end out the season. I don't think he will or should] be back next year. I suppose, if we must see this through, he might offer some progression in her character's development but I have to admit I am getting a little frustrated at Lilly's ignorance of what Scotty means to her. He's always there for her, it's so damn obvious he loves her, all he needs is for her to acknowledge it. Don't get me wrong, I think Lilly loves him as well but her wounds run so deep that it's taking eons for her to face them.
    Having said that, I couldn't possibly imagine how hard it is to have been through what Lilly has gone through in her life. Apparently time is what she needs and time is what Scotty is giving her. I only wish she would see that she doesn't have to handle it alone - Scotty would be there for her in a heartbeat, if she only asked.

    I doubt this will last though but it will be good to see how this plays out. Lilly needs some love I'm hoping he will not turn out like that guy Joseph who was obbessed with Cats. Maybe if it doesn't work out Lilly would be the one this time to end it, instead of waiting for the breakup which would send her back into more sadness. I think this will give Lilly some hope that love can happen. Believe me I do want her to be in love but in a good relationship.

    Maybe this relationship will make her see the faults that she has in the previous ones and give Lilly the chance to try and change so that her heart doesn't land up smashed into a million pieces. Like always I'm all for this, but just hope the writers don't add another stupid love triangle into this. One guy is enough no need to add another one. I'm glad this one is a cop but lets hope this works. If it doesn't well Lilly will always have Scotty who does love her.

    I wasn't very excited about him coming on board as Lilly's love interest. But after seeing the previews, I'm so excited for this ep and to see how this is going to play out. I'm ready!

    Oh I like him!!!! You can tell Lily likes him. I want them together. I want Lily and Scotty together but that isn't gonna happen so this new guy can be good for Lily.

    Well that's what I've read. But it appears he's only in one more ep(the finale) So I'm so hoping something happens then and that he will sign on for more eps next season. I think it would have been silly to be in just two eps so I really hope he'll be back next season.

    It's funny pealee_83, I was thinking the same thing when I didn't see him in last night's epi. Bringing him on for 2 episodes was pretty silly no matter how you look at it so I'm hoping he will be back next season otherwise really - what was the point? They could have just waited til next season and just introduced his character at the end of this one.

    I agree. No matter if his character is or not going to be a love interest it was pointless to be in only 2 eps. They made such a big deal out of it in the previews for his first ep. So I'm hoping he will return. I like Bobby and his character, Eddie rather or not he's a love interest to Lilly.
