This is the first episode to feature a flashback scene that shows something other than what really happened. It doesn't show a lie, but something George Marks made himself believe happened.
(edit)
This is the second episode to feature a younger version of one of the main cast members, young Lilly (played by Christina Cellner). The first time was episode 2-19: Strange Fruit, in which a young version of Will Jeffries was played by DJ Wyatt.
(edit)
Goof: Some of the scenes in this episode are supposed to take place in 1972. Young George is playing Sunshine on My Shoulders by John Denver on his record player. However, the song did not exist in 1972. In fact, the song did not materialize until two years later when it entered the Billboard charts in February 1974.
(edit)
This case seems to be based on the real-life serial killer and rapist Robert Hansen. Like the killer in this episode, Hansen had been known to the police but was not officially charged and got away to kill again. In his case, he was finally arrested and is serving his sentence in a prison in Alaska.
