A near-death experience causes a likeable family man to switch bodies with an incarcerated serial killer.

He starred in several telefilms, such as Mom at 16, We Were the Mulvaneys, Confessions of a Sociopathic Social Climber, Ladies' Night, More Tales of the City and Lifetime's upcoming Playing House. Colin Ferguson: I am doing a movie of the week with Lara Flynn Boyle for Lifetime. It is called "The House Next Door." We are married and the house next door is evil! It will be a nice change of pace. (edit) Reporter: Did you quit school?
Colin Ferguson: Stupidly, no. When I was working in Detroit I actually took three classes across the river at the University of Windsor, Ontario. So my days were stupidly long. I took Victorian authors, Jacobean playwrights. It was brutal. I ended up blowing my knee. (edit) Reporter: And if the show's success continues, it seems like that will be happening more often
Colin Ferguson: [Laughs] Yeah. It used to be ''Colin Ferguson — isn't that the...?'' And I'm like, ''Yeah, that's the Long Island commuter-killer guy.'' I guess I'm out of that for the most part. (edit) (about "Eureka" (2006))
Colin Ferguson: I like science, so yeah, that's not a tough sell for me. It's the selling of the ideas that gets me rather than the science of the show. Like, for example, we have one show where [a citizen of the town] figures out to how to run really fast. I'm not so interested in the chemical composition of whatever it is that the guy is taking as much as I am [like], ''That's a pretty cool idea!'' You're back to when you're 12 — that'd be really cool to be able to do that. (edit)
