  • Sean's strategy to have Columbo thoroughly search the house and dig up the grounds, then hiding the body there is somewhat similar to the plot in 1x9 "Blueprint for Murder." In that episode the killer tricked Columbo into searching his construction site, then attempted to bury the body after the extensive search, knowing Columbo would not search the same place twice. edit »
  • Columbo mentions getting a call from an old friend, Detective Chief Superintendent Durk of Scotland Yard. This was the character that Bernard Fox played in the second season NBC Columbo episode "Dagger of the Mind" way back in 11/26/1972.
