Actress Yvonne Valadez Joins Fellow Military Veterans on The Night Shift

Americans willing to serve in the armed forces play a valuable role in our society. So, does telling their stories.

NBC’s medical drama, The Night Shift, showcases military and veterans issues regularly, but the most recent episode titled “Keep the Faith” goes a step farther. Not only does the storyline highlight veterans, but behind the scenes the show cast veterans in guest roles and also hired them to write and direct.

One such person brought in for this special episode was Army veteran turned actress Yvonne Valadez. The story follows a busy night at San Antonio Memorial when multiple veterans are injured in a protest gone wrong. Yvonne enters the story as Ananya, an ex-military photographer who was hurt while covering the protest. I think this has been a great show and hope someone will actually read and convey this email.
I am a classically trained opera singer that loves and lives in Manhattan now in the medical field. I think American idol is a bit silly, but have always felt this show was amazing with serious quality in both dancers and judges. I was so so so disappointed last season with the junior version and subsequently stopped watching. I was so excited when I saw that this season would be a serious competition, however now I am so disillusioned and likely to stop watching after this week. You have empowered the Allstars way too much. I am not interested in them and I think we are loosing some serious talent because of this ridiculous team requirement.
