This episode appears to be based upon the events that ocurred during the rape/murder trial of Troy Hendrix and Kayson Pearson. During their trial for the rape and murder of a Hunter College Student the men attempted to escape by attacking court staff and stabbing their own lawyers with weapons they had managed to get into the courtroom.
