Anyone noticed that Alex seems more harsh in Conviction than SVU?
I noticed it especially tonight (in "Downhill"), though there have been frequent mentions to her "leadership style."

Cabot also seems to have been promoted since coming back from witness protection in the SVU plot arc of that Colombian drug lord.
On LO:SVU, she was merely a prosecutor, but now she's a bureau chief.

Yeah I noticed that too I don't think the old Cabot would enjoy letting a rapist go free with out any type of punishment. It seems that Alex on Conviction is more focused on winning more cases than caring baout the actual victims of the crime. idk thast's my persona; opinion on how she is being portryaed right now

I wrote this in a different Conviction forum about the last episode: (it has to do with this topic soo I'll copy & paste it)
"The thing that bugged me SO much about this episode [last friday's episode) is what Alex did! I know shes supposed to be a hard-ass boss or whatever... and Dick Wolf wants her to be all Alex-like; but I don't think what she did was Alex like at all... the way she let down that rape victim by not allowing Jessica to convict the rapist. I mean.... Alex, out of all people should have understood that the rape victim needed closure. She has seen more rape cases than any of those newbie ADAs! And I know Alex apologized to Jessica about what she did... but she should have felt worse. Jessica's victim killed herself and I'm sure Jessica thought it was her fault. Almost the same thing happened to Alex in Guilt when her vic killed himself..... Alex felt awful and she had to live with the guilt the rest of her life. Doesn't she feel bad Jessica has to live with that?
Also... at the end of the episode when Alex was apologizing to Jessica it would have been a perfect time to mention that Alex used to be in WPP. In a nutshell, she could have said something like "I dealt with a similar case... I was in WPP and used to be an ADA for SVU. I know how you feel." I don't know. It just seems like to me Alex has been very tough... way tougher than she was in SVU. Maybe its just because shes the boss, but still, she's not the same."

I so agree with all of you guys. Alex went from a hardworking, humble (well maybe not that humble, but oh well) lawyer to this flamboyant hard-ass b**chy boss. I wish the nicer one came back. This is clearly a brand new Cabot. Maybe WPP had something to do with it...

No, it's the writers of conviction, not wpp. They don't know how to write Alex properly.

Yeah, it's definatley not WPP... she was pretty nice in Ghost... well in Ghost, she was at least acting like Alex, instead of "Alexandra."

Yeah she definitely came out of WPP with a whole new attitude. I just don't see the old Alex doing any of things that new Alex has been doing on Conviction.

Yeah. I can't remember what episode it was, but she was really harsh with the victim's mother. And I could never imagine the SVU Alex doing something like that. It was just shocking to see her attitude completely change between the two shows.

Yeah Alex went out of character quite a few times throughout Conviction. SVU Alex is a lot more likable- Going through witness protection made her more of a hard-ass I guess.
