Jules tries to prove Grayson that men and women can be just friends without any sexual tension. Meanwhile, with Jules encouragement, Andy buys a motorcycle from Laurie, without telling Ellie, and Travis goes with Bobby on a man-trip for some "noodling", only to be mortified by the discovery of what noodling actually means.
Sheryl Crow guest stars as Sara, a confident wine representative, who sets her sights on Grayson, but is he strong enough to be with her? Meanwhile, Ellie tells Jules that she cannot change something about her because of her age and Jules tries to prove her wrong by not drinking for a month. While Bobby's new dog is Andy's competition.
Cougar Town focuses on a newly single 40-year-old mom Jules Cobb (Courteney Cox) and her teenage son (Dan Byrd). In a small town of Florida, the most important thing is the Cougars high shool football team, which is very appropriate since there are tons of divorcees prowling in the area looking… More for young men. Jules doesn't want to be one of them, but after an ugly divorce and her 40, she desperately wants more action in her life. Encouraged by her best friend Ellie Torres (Christina Miller) and her assistant Laurie Keller (Busy Phillips), Jules tries to enter back into the dating scene. To her surprise she meets Bobby Cobb (Brian Van Holt), a very young nice guy, as he discovers that she still has what it takes. The single-camera comedy comes from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and co-executive producer Courteney Cox. Cougar Town is produced by ABC Studios.
Title of the song at the end of the episode pls. Much appreciated. Thanks
wow, i can't believe i'm saying this, but i'm not creeped out by cougars (older women) anymore! i was scared of them before this show exists because a drunken cougar once bit me on my arm...
So I don't know if I should watch this show or not. If you had to compare this show to another what would it be? I'm a big Courtney fan. But I don't know if this is the right show for me, is it "for women" (Something like Sex and the city?) because if so, then I was correct in my… More assumption.
This show is headed down hill. This was the most boring episode of the season. I thought the show was about humorous side of cougar life, certainly not this episode and the ex-husband's character has gone totally moronic. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon. Put this show out of its misery soon.
It's funny at times, but I think it's unoriginal. hide show
I'm going to be brutally honest and say that it is a show wit h some potential, but I feel that the concept is poor and pathetic and extremely overused.
My most positive comment about the show is that it is quite funny so far, which I always love in television programs. All it needs is better storylines, and in my opinion, that can be done.
I do think that the cast is quite good too, but originality is its downfall. All too often have we seen this sort of concept, and it is quite tiresome to watch.
However, I would recommend that you give it a try.
This show is horrible, ABC has to be kidding. Do you mean to tell me that ABC can't produce a better more funny show than this one. This is trash not even funny and storyline ran out after first two shows. ABC kill it already. If it wasn't for Modern Family prior I would never even subject myself to this while waiting till 10PM EST to arrive. If Criminal minds were on at 9:30PM EST I would not even waste the Flat screens energy on this show. Remove it quickly before you sink the whole hour between 9-10PM EST.
A show most people either love to hate or are ashamed to love. Well, Cougar Town is the ONLY new comedy which delivers MORE than we bargained for. hide show
It's a stigma; after half-assed tries, are we really going to give Cox another chance? Come on. Cougars? Cheap sex trick to draw in viewers. I mean, who wouldn't be ashamed - this must be for the brainless, right? WRONG! Among all the big guns: the darlings Modern Family which is supposedly Arrested Development child but is NOTHING CLOSE, 30 Rock which was a sleeper hit before but is a hit-and-miss juggernaut now, Community, which is cute but too over-the-top, the mainstay 2 1/2Men (etc.) Cougar Town is the ONLY comedy which delivers MORE than we bargained for. It's supposed to be a dud. A flop. A cheap attempt at ... what exactly? But it's NOT. I was skeptical at first but the show is seriously winning me over. The writing is much better than it has any right to be and uses the most out of a sleeper situation. The sex is anything but - if you expected Cox (as many that are kicking this show surely are) to hop from one "fresh meat product" to another - sorry, no such luck. This is an honest mom - with complexes up to the rafters. The supporting cast is the best I've seen in a long time. Her son and her neighbors are positively fantastic in their roles. Even the over-the-top character of her ex-husband has that Forrest Gump vibe - he knows the serious, he just doesn't want to play there. There are shortcomings, of course, but all in all - a rough sexy gem of a comedy that should be allowed to grow even better.
I watched this show when I was bored and I expected to hate it, but is really hard to stop watching. None of the characters are particulairy likable, but its their flaws that make you keep watching. This show is the good type of awkward where it remains funny no matter how uncomfortable the situation. Courtney Cox also looks fantastic for her age and not in a fake plastic surgery way that some stars do. Busy Phillips kills it in this show (even though her character reminds me of the same one she played in Dawson's Creek). The son and ex-husband also add a lot of comic relief. I hope the first season continues as well as it started.
