Jules and Grayson make a plan to tell Bobby that they are officially dating, and Travis sees a truly angry woman when the forgets his seven-month anniversary with Kylie.
Cougar Town focuses on a newly single 40-year-old mom Jules Cobb (Courteney Cox) and her teenage son (Dan Byrd). In a small town of Florida, the most important thing is the Cougars high shool football team, which is very appropriate since there are tons of divorcees prowling in the area… More looking for young men. Jules doesn't want to be one of them, but after an ugly divorce and her 40, she desperately wants more action in her life. Encouraged by her best friend Ellie Torres (Christina Miller) and her assistant Laurie Keller (Busy Phillips), Jules tries to enter back into the dating scene. To her surprise she meets Bobby Cobb (Brian Van Holt), a very young nice guy, as he discovers that she still has what it takes.
The single-camera comedy comes from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and co-executive producer Courteney Cox. Cougar Town is produced by ABC Studios.
So I don't know if I should watch this show or not. If you had to compare this show to another what would it be? I'm a big Courtney fan. But I don't know if this is the right show for me, is it "for women" (Something like Sex and the city?) because if so, then I was correct in my… More assumption.
Just google it. But I haven't found the new name, doubt they'll release it anytime soon. Just one story: http://www.torontosun.com/entertainment/tv/2010/05/13/13937891-wenn-story.html Thoughts? I actually think this is the best idea. Jules hasn't dated anyone "young" since like the 6th… More episode. And now with her and Grayson getting close, there's no reason this needs to be called what it's called right now. I think the name itself doesn't reflect what the show's really about.
Star magazine reports that Courtney Cox (Jules), and Brian Van Holt (Bobby) recently have been photographed together several times alone. Star reports that the two have had late night dinners at secluded Bistros, and David Arquette has been nowhere to be found. It is public knowledge that… More Courtney Cox and her husband are in marriage counseling, for what they call "stress" related problems. I don't support infidelity, but how cool would it be if those two actually hooked up?
a little off with the details in Cougar Town. hide show
So if Jules is supposed to be 40, how is it that she had a kid when she was 19 and her kid is about 17? 19 + 17 = 36. Jules isn't in her 40s yet and the show is based entirely on the fact that she's a 40 year old single mom who's constantly harping about the fact that she's 40? Couldn't the execs have gotten the age thing right? At least. Either that or their facts are little all over the place, coz in one episode she says she was pregnant with Travis at 19 and in another episode she said she was 22 when she had Travis. Either way she's still not yet 40.
Don't let the name fool you, this isn't really about Cougars anymore. It's an amazingly laugh out loud comedy with a dysfunctional family dynamic. MUST SEE TV! hide show
I've always been a fan of Courtney Cox and Bill Lawrence, so I was really excited about this show. When it began, I was only kinda into it. But after the first 6 episodes, it really started to sing. As the show progressed through the season, I found it more and more to be like what Scrubs had before it the dreaded 9th season. The characters are all very well written, and VERY well acted. I had recorded the shows and have been watching them over and over through the summer. It always makes me laugh out loud.
I highly recommend this show to anyone who enjoys lots of laughs, Scrubs, Courtney Cox, and/or a dysfunctional family dynamic.
The best comedy since friends. The wit is fast and furious and my only criticism is that the dialogue is sometimes too quick for a "slow British ear" to 'get' straight away!
The relationships between all the main characters seem to have jelled effortlessly, and although this is pure escapism, I'd love to believe that I too could be part of the "Cul-de-sac Crew"! The will they/wont they sexual tension between Jules and Grayson (The gorgeous chap over the road - single, but with "issues") had me on the edge of my seat on a number of occasions, and I bet I wasn't the only person who let out an audible "awwww" when they kissed for the first time.
Lovely, easy watching tv - Bring on the new series!!!
I thought it would suck but it doesn't. hide show
Turn your brain off for 30 minutes and relax. It's fun and funny. Don't try to make more of it. Sometimes you just want to couch crouch and stare for a while. But thought and action re plot and laughter cam distract from a good zone-out. You need breezy characters and stories that make no demands above third person voyeurism. It's like napping at a bud's place and only waking to catch the good stuff. You smile and snicker and drift back off until the next thing. I've heard that there are some who make it a 4:20 afternoon habit.
story revolves around Jules (Courtney Cox) who is a 40 something Cougar.
(except she's not really).... the relationships she has with her friends and her son...

This show started off a bit slow for me but now its probably my favourite show. Its witty, funny and a little crazy... There is nothing else like it on tv, which makes it even better to me. Courtney Cox is great as Jules , but not the funniest character. There is such a great collection of other people on this show - i think you really need to watch it to see.
If you were a Scrubs fan then i think you'll love this show, it has similar dry comedy. People who don't like it - i don't understand. Brilliant show.
