Remembrance of Courage Past: Courage remembers the time when his parents got sent to outer space by an evil vet and when Muriel adopted him. Something appears to be wrong when Muriel and Eustace see Courage just sitting there, so they take him to the same evil vet. Now, the evil vet plans to send Muriel and Eustace to outer space. Perfect: Eustace is sick and tired of how Courage constantly doing things wrong. A strict teacher arrives and attempts to make Courage "perfect", but keeps failing.
Courage the Cowardly Dog was an abandoned dog and was found by his owner Muriel who lives in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas with her husband Eustace Bagge. Eustace is a failed farmer who farms no more. His most prized object is his old truck. He is usually watching his old black and white televison… More and is always asking for his meal. He is crazy about his red chair. Muriel loves to sit in her rocking chair watch her favorite show (not mentioned what it's called), cook, play her sitar, and enjoy talking with Courage. Eustace, on the other hand, dislikes Courage. He scares him with a mask. Courage is a dog almost afraid of everything and with the help of his computer he battles the villians and saves himself and his owners. They don't have any neighbors that live next door. Katz is the most common villian that is seen on the show, he thinks up wise traps to lure people into their doom. The bickering of Eustace, the old customs of Muriel, the action of the villians, and the humor of Courage make it a great show!

When I was younger this show scared the crap out of me and I didn't like it a whole lot. Now that I am older I do not find it creepy anymore but I do find myself loving a lot of the plots. This was a surreal show on Cartoon Network that should still be making new episodes, I think. It didn't have THAT many episodes, so I think they should make more, even though they probably won't. I like watching it, especially during October when they show marathons of it all month long.
So, in my opinion, a classic cartoon for children
Definitely one of the better Cartoon Network shows; creepy and surreal, but in a good way. hide show
I'll admit, when I first saw this show as a child, it scared me silly. But after I got used to it, I found a great love for it.
This was one of those shows where it was so surreal and strange, you had to love it. I loved how distinct the show was; it wasn't like any other Cartoon Cartoon that was on at the same time. And that's in terms of the plots, and the style of the characters (one of the distinctions I love about the show, for some reason, is that the human characters actually have five fingers).
What's even more amazing was that every episode followed the same basic plot: Some menacing villain or monster comes to terrorize the Bagge farm in the Middle of Nowhere, Muriel's life is put in danger, and Courage comes up with a plan to save his family. Oh, and Eustace calls Courage a "stupid dog" at least once, of course.
You'd think using the same plot over and over again would hurt a show, but all the crazy villains and monsters that come to terrorize Courage makes up for this (who doesn't love a walking, talking red cat with his own creepy theme music?).
I watched this show right up to when it was finished, and I loved it until the end (the only thing I didn't like was when Eustace obviously began being voiced by a new actor). This was one of Cartoon Network's masterpieces, and it definitely needs to keep being shown (and NOT on Boomerang!).
Creepy, but that's what made it good. hide show
I grew up with Courage the Cowardly Dog. I began to watch it the day it aired, literally. Some parts of the series freaked me out, and some even scared me a little bit, but I still loved this show anyway. It's a very funny show. This is a very unique clever idea for show. Everyone of the episodes were original and a very smart idea. The voice acting was really well done and they got awesome voice actors to play the parts and they also got amazing co-stars to play the extras. It's got good animation, and Courage looks so cute. It definetly brings back a lot of memories of when I was younger. Dang, how I wish CN didn't get rid of this series. Grade: 90/100.
A dog and his owners + Strange adventures + good plots= Courage the Cowardly Dog hide show
For some reason, the lady who owned Courage looked like my great grandmother. The show always had great plots and was quite different from the others shows on CN at the time but it was also similar to the cartoons on CN at the time. It was a classic. I started watching it when it first came in '99 so I was like... 4 or 5. They cancelled it too soon. It was a great show. It was my favorite CN show after Ed, Edd n' Eddy. I laughed when Eustace or whatever his name is scared Courage with that mask.
Another great classic show. Cough *Crack* hide show
Another really great classic Cartoon Network use to have. The show is about one dog name Courage who was found by Muriel and was took home to Murials husband Eustace who seems to be a dick to Courage. This show can actually be sometimes wierd or random with all the cameos and cinemas and stuff, there are likable characters, the voice acting in this is great, and Courage is so funny. The art direction is perfect and everythings excellent about this show. I never understand why this show never had a 5th season. It could have been a hit but you see, the new leader of the new CN is Vince from Shamwow and he's making CN suck these days. Overall this show is awesome to watch even today.
