In 1982, seven people in Chicago died from cyanide poisoning after ingesting "spiked" Tylenol capsules. Although no one was ever charged with the murders, James Lewis was convicted of trying to extort $1 million from Johnson & Johnson, the makers of Tylenol. He threatened more deaths if he wasn't paid.
