1) Mitch Crumb comes home to his hometown to deal with his mother (Suzanne Crumb), who has just been released from a psychiatric facility (Cedar Hill). 2) She has not yet learned that her ex-husband (Billy Crumb) is about to have a baby with another woman. 3) Mitch's brother (Jody Crumb), who's stayed there to carry on the family business, feels Mitch is only there to write about their family to make money.

2. Whatever Happened to Baby Bodashka?

1) Suzanne decides to adopt a baby girl from the Ukraine after learning that Billy and new woman are having a girl. 2) Billy inadvertently gets Elvis, Suzanne's psychiatric orderly, fired from the institution (Cedar Hill). 3) Jody forces a hesitant Mitch to take his job as restaurant manager seriously when he has to fire a waitress who is stealing.

3. Friends in High Places  

First aired: 1/26/2006    Production Code: 103

1) Mitch worries about Suzanne's avoiding friends that she shared with her former husband. Mitch advises her to join a divorce group to sort out some issues. She does, but finds that too boring, so she joins a group of recovering drug addicts instead. 2) Jody deceives Mitch into loaning him money. 3) Billy seeks reconciliation with Jody.

4. Jody Crumb, Superstar  

First aired: 2/2/2006    Production Code: 104

1) Billy is mistakenly busted and loses his massage license. He decides to run the family restaurant. 2) Mitch and Jody compete for his approval. 3) Suzanne, worried that she’s losing Mitch and Jody to Billy, turns to shoplifting. 4) Elvis works in the restaurant now. 5) Andrea talks to Mitch into telling his family about his money problems, but he does not.

5. Six Feet Blunder  

First aired: 2/7/2006    Production Code: 105

1) Mitch meets a guy, but he will not go out with him unless he tells his parents his secret. 2) Suzanne gets a job. 3)Billy decides he wants to buried in the family plot someday.

6. Tennis, Any Crumb?  

Production Code: 106

Suzanne's mad at Mitch when he's spending more time with his girlfriend instead of her. So to make her happy he reveals to her that he is gay.

7. Maybe I'm Tony Randall  

Production Code: 107

1) Mitch goes out with a girl and he starts to think he might not be gay. 2) Billy tries to get closer to Jody.

8. Sleeping with the Enemies  

Production Code: 108

1. Mitch is jealous of an affair between Jody and Andrea. 2. When Billy hurts his back fixing Suzanne's roof, she takes him in and tries to win back his affections.

9. The Gift of a Magpie  

Suzanne decides to hate Christmas four months later as she missed the last one due to being in psychiatric facility.
