A divorce party ends in murder while Horatio is forced to protect Kyle from Julia's erratic behavior. hide show
While this storyline has been told numerous times but the concept of a divorce party made the episode more enjoyable. The husband was written as a dispicable cad, but one must give him credit for keeping his second family a secret, considering that they lived ten minutes apart. In the age where children are conceived with the help of an annonymous sperm donar, having the brother and sister fall in love before learning they are actually related seems credible. The writer's could have been much more creative in coming up with a better reason for the brother and sister consipring to kill their father.
The sub plot involving Tara, Kyle, Julia, and Horation was by far the most interesting. It was great to see Horatio finally take a part in raising Kyle, even if it meant giving his young son his independence. While Julia still is portrayed as being emotionally unhinged, she still comes across as someone likeale and truly cares about her son, dispite the fact that her actions often contradict this fact. It was great to see Kyle take a job as Tara Price's assistant, even if Horatio got him the job to teach him a lesson in speeding. He seemed to develope a stomach for the job while slowly show signs of maturity as a result. Kyle getting an apartment at the end seemed a bit unrealistic but I have a feeling that Horatio talked Julia into it as a way of getting him out from under her unhealthy influence.
The most disturbing part of the episode envolved Tara Price and some missing medication. I was very disappointed in Tara's decision to put the blame on Julia but the writer's did a good job of showing us just which lady has the addiction problem. I'm looking forward to seeing where the writer's take this stroyline. It's certain to be one that has very unpleasant consequences.

One word that certainly can't be used to describe this episode is predictable. This episode is certainly one of the best written episodes of "CSI: Miami" in a long time. The murder investigation had twists and turns that I am sure the viewer did not see coming. When it was finally resolved I had a somewhat uneasy feeling. I don't want to say why here so as to not give the ending away. Another positive aspect of this episode is the story concerning the disappearance of evidence from the lab. Just when you thought it was obvious who took it....
A divorce party ends in a murder investigation. In the meantime, Horatio tries to save Kyle from Julia's erratic behaviours. hide show
In my opinion, another well written episode. I was surpirsed with the outcome of who the killer was. I'm not sure anyone suspected the two children, and I think it was an even bigger shock when it turned out that the two involved were his half-sibling children, aswell as another intriguing secret.
I'm sure a number of us suspected the ex-wife at first. Her personality certainly wasn't helping her. Somewhat snobbish, I wouldn't have been surpirsed if she were arrested just for denying her knowledge of his murder. And then the other wife appears, a little timid and shaken from her husband's death. From the moment I saw her daughter, I had a strong feeling she would have something to do with it. Also, I didn't know before that chloroform could be made at home.
The bits with Horatio, Kyle, and Julia were played out well. I really wanted to jump into Kyle's car and just slap Julia (hey, that's my sister's name) upside the head. She shouldn't be depending on Kyle to get her to her interviews. My reaction to when Horatio gave Kyle to Dr. Price as her new intern was this: all I could think of was how mad I would be at my father if he got me a job in an autopsy theatre without asking me. I wouldn't mind if, of course, but still. Also, at the part when Julia and Horatio met up to talk about the missing narcotics, I found myself silently hoping that she would slap him. Nice part at the end when Horatio gave Kyle the apartment. It shows that Horatio trusts him enough to give him a place of his own.
Right at the end with Price. I had some suspicions about her. Although, I am wondering if she took the narcotics because she had hit her head earlier on, or for some other reason. Seems interesting...
