PiratedEpisode Number: 57 Season Num: 3 First Aired: Monday November 22, 2004 Prod Code: 309 |
The team investigates modern-day piracy off the coast of Miami after five bodies are discovered floating in the ocean tied together by rope. Horatio suspects that a ship was hijacked with some of the crew killed and then dumped overboard. Evidence suggests that other crew members might have escaped on a life raft. Using radar and GPS technology, the CSIs find survivors but their stories don't match. Now, Horatio and the team must learn what really happened out in the ocean as they find themselves investigating the seamy underbelly of Miami's militias and arms dealers.

(Horatio and Tripp find a boat smugling RPG launchers)
Tripp: That's great we've got one empty case here and 10 full ones out there.
Horatio: The streets of Miami just got a whole lot more dangerous. (edit) (The team just pulled six bodies out of the sea)
Horatio: The killer could still be out there.
Tripp: Probably long gone by now. Hijack the boat, kill the crew, sell off the cargo.
Horatio: Frank they used to have another name for that.
Tripp: Piracy? Come on Horatio.
Horatio: 35 billion dollars lost last year, dozen of ships gone missing.
Coast Guard Officer: In Malaysia, Indonesia, it's been 10 years since a Florida ship got pirated.
Horatio: Until now (edit) Horatio: What did you get, Alexx?
Alexx: (Having to examine six cadavers at once) Got myself a six-pack, Horatio. I already called in the night shift. (edit) Wesley Morgan: How are you gonna stop us all?
Horatio: One animal at a time.
Eric: We'll start by confiscating your computers: hunting down your E-mail contacts.
And then track your credit card purchases, club memberships, magazine subscriptions…
Everything we need to do until all of you are rooted out. Because we never close!
Horatio: Ever! (edit) Horatio: (To Wesley Morgan) You, my friend, just went from selling cars... to making license plates. (edit)

When Ryan and Calleigh are talking about the practice of cannibalism committed by one of the college students, Ryan mentions the “Fine Young Cannibals - (FYC)”. FYC was an English band best known for their 1989 hits "She Drives Me Crazy" and "Good Thing". Their 1986 first album was also named “Fine Young Cannibals”.
