While this is not a terrible episode of "CSI: NY" it is a disappointing one. Mainly because it recycles story elements from other "CSI" shows. As with the case of the man murdered during "The Idiot Run." When it's finally revealed who the killer of the man is I was immediately reminded of a sixth season episode of "CSI" (The season opener in fact)titled "Bodies In Motion" from which this portion of the episode took its ending. I also did not care for the story of the "kidnapped" woman. That too has been done before.

This episode was so...blah. I didn't like it. I didn't hate it. It didn't really register with me at all. It was so unbelievably forgettable that I don't even know if I want to count it as an episode. Maybe it was a trial run, or something. Because in my opinion, the first episode back after your winter hiatus should kick butt. It should remind people of why they loved it. It should reward your viewers for coming back after five weeks without a new episode. This episode fell so far short of that, it's not even funny.
I will say this right now. I don't like Angell. It's not that her character is badly written, or anything like that. She, as a person, as a presence on the show, irks me. While technically probably replacing Maka, who was in very few episodes in S1 and S2 (which the writers should take not of, and not have so many with Angell), she seems to me to be more of a replacement for Aiden. They even kind of look alike. I'm sure it's unfeasible that Flack can handle both cases in an episode by himself, I wish they'd take a page from CSI's book and have different detectives. Or at least, they did, until they put Sofia in the credits. Anyway, remember? They used to have four or five 'backup' detectives, who'd be in one, two episodes a season. I'm sure the NYPD has more than just two homicide detectives. Seriously.
This will sound kind of cold, but Anna, would you please hurry up and give birth so that you can hurry up and come back and be Lindsay again? The Lindsay of the past few episodes has not been the Lindsay I know and love. Not that I would know, because she's hardly ever on screen. I understand that she's about to pop, and she's not physically able to film as she could before she was pregnant, but her scenes are just so pointless. I want her to make a major breakthrough. I want everything in the case to hinge on the evidence she's processing. I'd like someone to acknowledge the fact that she and Danny work in the same lab! Couldn't the two minutes of screen time they give her a week have her and Danny together? How difficult is that?
By the way, kudos to TPTB for not even mentioning that Lindsay basically had a breakdown in 3x12. I'm sure Stella going, "Hey, Lindsay, how are you doing?" would seriously detract from the wonderful cases in the episode.
That was sarcasm.
With the absence of D/L of late, I am totally counting Danny turning down the dominatrix as a D/L moment. He's not into fun. He's into Lindsay.
The cases themselves were ridiculous. The Idiotarod was an interesting premise, but it didn't hold my attention. Neither did the fake-kidnapping case, which was so ludicrous that I actually didn't care who had killed the guy. Home invasion. Kinky. Makes me hot. And then I'll have sex with the guy who killed him. Yeah. Such a turn-on.
People are messed up. Messed. Up.
Oh, and let's recycle the jealous ex-husband motive. So overdone. How come none of these murders are ever random? (Yes, some of them are, but seriously, why is it always the jealous boyfriend/ex/lover/husband? Be creative! It's what you're paid to do!)

Oh, and I highly enjoyed my 'shoutout' with Adam being from Phoenix. I giggled. However, 85 degrees is not cold. 85 degrees is perfectly comfortable, any time of the year. I would kill for 85 degrees right now. The season average is in the 60s. Also, Adam has obviously lived in New York for a while, so he should be used to the cold by now. I've only lived in Phoenix a few months and I'm already acclimated to the heat. It really doesn't take long.
By far my favorite scene was Danny with the dog. It was so adorable! Other than that, there wasn't much else I liked about this episode. I give it a 'meh'. I only taped it because I wasn't sure if I'd be home in time. I'll probably end up taping over it.
Hopefully, next week's episode is awesome, to make up for the snooze-fest I sat through on Wednesday.
This was an average episode to me. The cases were original and different and I did like that. However, this episode seemed to "drag" on.I did however,like that Adam was brought into the field to help out and I like the Danny/Hawkes interaction towards the end.Danny's interation withe the dog just shows how big of heart that he has and how compassionate his is. Anna's absence in the episode was felt when she had a combined total of 2 minutes on screen. Her pregnancy does limit her screen time but they need to put her in the episode more. vexus:)

It was a good episode not a great one but still good. There going back to the first season where the backlights are dark and I don’t like it.
The guy that died in the idiot run was weird. You kill a person because he stole your crate how stupid? The other case was just a little too much guessing. And what two scenes with Lindsay )at least they were with Mac)? I miss her! The next episode she is going home for a few because Anna Belknap is going to have her baby. You can really tell if you look at her in this episode.

Wow, this episode was filled with plenty of cliched lines. Oh course, since Danny said them it wasn't so bad. speaking of bad, Flack is such a sarcastic meanie! Lol, his humor is what makes this show so great. That and getting glimpses of Danny shirtless! :P :D
The case Stella and Mac were working really had my brain going. The phermones were a little much though, but it wasn't bad. Lindsey's scenes where she's leaning over the table or has headshots were really obvious that there was something going on (with Anna, of course). Over all, not bad. I liked the themes some of the teams had in the Idiotrun case.
