- Some could argue whether it was appropriate or not for Stella to handle such case. On the one hand, she was far too emotionally touched to focus as she is still far to be recovered herself, but on the other, coping with such a case proves her professionality and her ability to deal with whatever might come her way just right. Actually, she eventually realizes that she was taking a wrong approach, steps back and re-evaluates. Mac is close to see her struggling and yet he keeps her on the case, reassuring his faith in her. edit »
- Lindsay and Stella's argument is not easy to read. Lindsay could have been more touchy knowing that Stella would be affected by this particular case. It didn't seem too sympathetic of her to challenge Stella and prove her right that way. She deals with victims ans she was really supportive in 2x21mAll Access so she should have bee more understanding of the emotions that Stella was going through. However, Lindsay's task is to make sure things are done right, although she could have provided with more evidence to support her theory and disarm Stella with facts rather than with words. It wasn't the challenging but the attitude which didn't seem fitting. edit »
- Even though the case looked like domestic abuse, it ended up having some nice continuity with 2x21mAll Access as it turned up being home invasion. edit »
- Flack: We have a 10-13.
In the scene where Mac, Stella and Flack hear the gunshots, Flack calls in a 10-13 code. 10-13 code refers to 'advise weather and road conditions' by the standard 10-codes; however, for NYPD it means 'officer needs immediate assistance'.
The 10-13 is used by NYPD also when an officer get injured, replacing the less common and more descriptive 10-00 (Ten-Double Zero): "Officer Down, All Patrols Respond". edit »
- Spanish episode title: Un caso evidente, meaning Evident Case. edit »

- Sid: (about the impaled hotel concierge) When I was an intern they brought in a guy who had fallen off a loading dock onto a container of steel reinforcement rods- talk about a thousand points of light.
Mac: Ehmm, Sid, I’m sure that’s all fascinating, but I’m kind of jammed up with this today. edit » - Mac: (looking at the impaled hotel concierge) Based on the trajectory... I’d say it wasn’t an accident. edit »
- (Stella finds an address on a victim's hand)
Stella: 257 Morton, 10AM.
Hawkes: That's this address.
Lindsay: Why would any one write the time and the address if he was coming here to kill? It sounds more like an appointment.
Stella: An appointment for murder. edit » - Stella: (to Grace) Framing a man with known mental problems, very imaginative. But then, you're a therapist, you'd know who to pick. edit »
- Adam: Your blue markers all mark your biologicals: baby spit up, semen, ecoli bacteria, saliva.
Mac: Not all from the same person I hope.
Adam: According to the DNA results: ding ding ding, you are correct! edit »
- The part of this episode where the model mentions throwing an iPod at her assistant's head could be a reference to real-life model Naomi Campbell, who apparently threw her cellphone at her assistant's head. edit »
- When asked why he left the female victim's bracelet on her wrist, Sid explains that it's a bracelet Cartier created in the 70s- where the only way to take it off was with a special screwdriver from the giver. The bracelet is from The Love Collection, and newer more modern bracelets are around. The Love Collection is perhaps one of the most famous of Cartier's creations. edit »
