Flack is back in this one, we learn that Flack survived. He is working with Lindsay and Stella on a case. Mac, Hawkes & Danny are working together on another one. hide show

I loved this episode because I was so worried that Flack was not going to survive. When I saw him I was so relieved and thought Wow...he looks so good. I love the chemistry between Flack, Lindsay, Stella - they were all great together. The story was interesting, as usual. I wish there would have been more between Danny and Lindsay in the particular episode however...it was only the first episode of the season so I am sure that I will not be disappointed with this show later on. I also like that Mac and Peyton are together, they are so cute.

Bungee sex and a new character hide show

    Beginning
I loved the switch from you thinking the girl was running away from someone when really they knew each other. Bungee sex, never heard of it! Finally Mac has a woman! woo!:) I also loved to see that Flack was alright and better than ever.

    Case
A man was stabbed with a statue of liberty keychain. It turned out to be his girlfriend's dad; I never saw that coming. It turns out he was seeing a stripper and got her pregnant and the dad knew about it. He tried to pay the vic money to leave the stripper, but he never did.

    End
Aww it was so cute to see Mac and Peyton talk, and then him grab her hand when she started to walk away. They can be together without any interferences, for now atleast.:)

This opener was a good example of why this show is such a hit. Beautiful people, (the hot blonde who dies after a lingerie boxing match!), bungee sex and great acting. If they keep this up, the show should last for years. hide show

This opener was a good example of why this show is such a hit. Filled with beautiful guest stars, (the hot blonde who dies after a lingerie boxing match!), crazy bungee sex, and great acting. If they can keep this up for the rest of the season, I think this show will stay at the top of the charts. Also love the photography. The flashbacks are done with a sense of urgency, not just the normal flashback like you see on "Cold Case" etc. With the use of slow motion, you get the intensity of the murders and it adds to the quality of the show.

Bungee sex... just another day in NYC! hide show

Series opener, had been looking forward to it for ages and ages. I loved it =) Well, all apart from one thing; Peyton. But that's my personal grudge, because I think she was Mac have the wrong dynamic. The B case wasn't that different from others we've seen, but the A case for full of twists and turns, and even though they introduced the murderer near the beginning I still didn't guess it was him until near the end.

Great acting from all of the characters, loved the dynamic and it was great to see Flack back on the job... just because he's great. Overall, good start to Season 3.

It had me at the mention of bungee sex. hide show

Ok so this was the first episode of season 3,and what an episode.

    CASE 1
Mac,Stella,Lindsay and Peyton work on a case where a dead man is found on the brookly bridge after a couple having bungee sex saw him.The murder weapon happened to be a key chain(odd,I know). The CSI's instantly question his girlfriend after an engagement ring is found in his pocket. When his girlfriend reveals that she had not been proposed to,the search is on for the lucky lady, who happens to be a stripper who is preganant with the victims baby. She turned him down after her had supposedly paid her to dissappear out of his life. After looking through the victim's office and seeing a telescope pointing at the scene of the crime and a cheque in the paper shreading bin,it turns out that the murderer is the victim's father, who was the person who paid off the stripper and killed him.

    CASE 2
Danny and Hawkes investigate the murder of a young socialite found severely bruised in her apartment. On a night out, following the new fashion, she had hired a bodyguard to keep away all the scum bag guys. When DNA tests are ran,the bodyguard of her best friend is the suspect. He admits to a fight between him and the victims bodyguard.Later that night, the two best friends went back to the victims apartment with their bodyguards. After interrogating the best friend, all is revealed. After a few too many drinks, the victim and her friend decide to recreate the earlier fight with pillows as gloves. But jealousy prevails and the best friend beats her to death.

    CHARACTERS
The beginning with Mac in bed with Peyton shows a different side to him and could make an interesting storyline for this season.

    PERSONAL THOUGHTS
I was a little bit upset by the total lack of D/L moments, but after I got over that,I was left impressed by the writing and the continuity with Flack.Hopefully the season keeps up with the high standard that it has already set.

  • Goof: Due the high speed that bungee jumpers gather on the drop, Mac would have been dragged upwards when he grabbed them. []
  • Despite Peyton being first introduced in Mac's bed, their romance doesn't take over the cases and it's subtly depicted in the episode. []
  • According to a make up artist and based on the close ups of Melina Kanakaredes, looks like the soft powder she has regularly been using in her eyes has changed to liquid eyeliner. []
More Trivia
  • The cell phones used during the third season are Nokia E62. []
  • This is the first season in which CSI: NY is not scheduled to compete against Law&Order. []
  • This is the first appearance of Det. Angell (Emmanuelle Vaugier). []
More Notes
  • Hawkes: All roads lead to Rome. []
  • Peyton: The trace that came back on the cigarette was pre-natal vit-a-mins.
Flack: (To Stella) I think she means vitamins. []
  • Peyton: (leaving the autopsy room and walking towards Mac) I just finished my last autopsy, and I was thinking that maybe I could buy you dinner.
    Mac: Dinner.
    Peyton: Yeah. Uh oh.
    Mac: What?
Peyton: You've got that look. It's the same look you had the other night on the Brooklyn Bridge. Surprise.
Mac: It wasn't surprise. I knew we'd eventually work the same crime scene together. It's just that having a relationship with someone that I work with is not something that I'm used to. The moment on the Bridge was a little... surprising.
Peyton: Mac, I know that you are a very private man. But we're both professional people that can do our jobs unaffected by what happens after hours. Don't you think so?
(Mac doesn't say anything. Peyton sighs and turns to leave, but Mac grabs her hand. Peyton smiles and he kisses her.)
Mac: Yeah. I think so. []
More Quotes
  • Mac and Peyton's scene where he grabs her hand is reminiscent of a scene from Fallen Angel (starring Gary Sinise). []
  • Stella: (About a pregnant pole-dancer) That's one hot momma.

This is an allusion to Trace Adkins's song Hot Mama from his album of the same name. []
  • Lindsay demonstrates how dynamite got on the victim's tie by tying Mac's around his neck. Stella says: I love it when she does this, which is an allusion to 2x05 Dancing with the Fishes, when Lindsay made another demonstration explaining what the unusual trace on the tram driver was. []
