Nick: I don't get it. These woman, the time, the pain, the effort. For what? Smoother skin? Please.
Catherine: Make a muscle Nicky.
Nick: What?
Catherine: Roll up your sleeve, make a muscle. (he rolls up his sleeve and makes a muscle and Catherine feels it and is impressed) Now how much time went into this? I'm gonna guess 5 days at the gym, low carb, low fats, slow burn, and for what, Nicky? For what?
Nick: That's a good point but it's not the same thing.
Catherine: No. It's nice, though.
Nick: Well, thanks, I'm not even flexing it yet either.
Catherine: Really? But it's rock hard.
David (appears in doorway holding a purse): Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt... barge in.
Nick: No, no, it's all right, Super Dave. Nice purse. (edit) Sara: What are you doing with potassium nitrate?
Grissom: I'm making a bomb. Two bombs, actually.
(He takes a scoop of sugar and adds it to the mix)
Sara: And sugar. You're making sweet bombs?
Grissom: I'm making smoke bombs. (edit) (Processing the victims house)
Nick: Do you uh, think these supplements really work?
Catherine: Why you askin' me?
Nick: I'm just askin' a question, Catherine.
Catherine: Scientifically, there's not a whole lot of evidence. (they continue to process and Catherine finds more beauty products)
Nick: More lotions and potions.
Catherine: You gonna ask me if these work too?
Nick: No. I'm gonna go process the bathroom. (edit) Travis: I heard that you found urine in the vic's stomach.
Catherine: I'm not sure if it's hinky or kinky.
Travis: When I used to play ball for the Stars, we would pee on our palms during spring training, toughen up 'em up, you know.
Catherine: Remind me to never shake your hand.
Travis: I'll put on a glove first.
Catherine: That's always a good idea. (Travis laughs) (edit) Doc Robbins: I found ten cc's of urine in her stomach. Digestive system is intact and I found no bruises or abrasions in her mouth. So there's only one way it could've gotten there.
Catherine: Chug-a-lug. (edit)

When Catherine enters the beauty salon, you can clearly see the real name of the beauty salon they are filming in, on the glass door. The real name is Blue Medi Spa, in Sherman Oaks, California on Ventura Blvd.
(edit)
While Dr. Al Robbins was going over the autopsy for Nick and Catherine, you can see the dead woman's eye twitch during a close up of her face.
(edit)
When Nick and Catherine are looking round the apartment of one of the victims, Nick starts to photograph the books about staying young that are on the coffee table. Meanwhile, Catherine is picking up and putting down various 'lotions and potions' and then flicking through the victim's journal and reading out the anti-aging regime to Nick. Once she's finished she moves over to another section of the apartment and starts picking up more bottles and stuff. In the mirror you can see Nick photograph the area she'd just gone through. I thought the whole point of the photography was to capture the scene as is, before people have pawed through the contents. They're kind of doing it backwards.
(edit)
When David delivers the purse (or handbag as we'd call it this side of the pond) to Catherine and Nick, which had been supposed to come in with the victim, he hands it over - no gloves. They take it - no gloves. They open it and pour the contents on the desk and start to pick things up - again no gloves. Surely this is still evidence and new evidence at that. There could be prints or anything on this stuff, so a bit of the five-fingered latex would be called for.
(edit)
Catherine mentions the title of the episode "Crow's Feet" in the episode.
(edit)
The name of the shop that sold the Blue Hyacinth Macaw is Buy Buy Birdie, a name which is play on words of the title of the famous musical and film Bye Bye Birdie, written by Adams & Strouse, originally staged in 1960 and filmed in 1963. The title song itself is well known.
(edit)
Grissom: You don't have to, Ted. We know why the caged bird sings.
Grissom says this after they confront Ted Martin with their evidence.
This is most likely a reference to the first autobiographical work by Maya Angelou, "I know why the caged bird sings". The book is from 1969. (edit) The beauty spray: "Dorian Spray"
This spray is most likely named after "Dorian Gray", the character from "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde. Dorian Gray made a pact with the devil : his picture ages instead of him and he stays young and beautiful forever. By stabbing his own picture, Dorian died. (edit)
