ALLUSIONS

  • Sweet Jane: This is the title of a song by the Velvet Underground, which appeared on their 1970 Album Loaded and a number of their live recordings. The name Jane evidently refers to the number of Jane Does involved in this case.

    The song was written by Lou Reed, who started as a sideman with the Underground before getting rid of John Cale and taking over leadership of the band. The version of the song used in the episode is performed by the Cowboy Junkies. edit »
