Warrick: You know, your father is out of surgery.
Ellie: Yeah, how's he doing?
Warrick: It's a little too early to tell, but I know when he wakes up, he'll be happy to see you.
Ellie: Think so?
Warrick: I know so. You look good.
Ellie: You mean I don't look like a crack-whore anymore?
Warrick: That's not what I meant, but no. (edit) Greg (referring to Brass): You two have known each other for a long time.
Grissom: We've worked together ever since he came from New Jersey.
Greg: Just between you and me, does he always wear a suit? Like when you guys go to dinner, the movies, or whatever it is you do when you hang out? Cause I've got to tell you, the thought of him in a sweater... it freaks me out.
Grissom: We don't... hang out, Greg.
Greg: No kiddin? I just assumed. (edit) Grissom: Where's McKeen?
Greg: I sent him home. (Grissom looks surprised) I'm kidding, he went to get something to eat. (edit) Warrick (about Manny Rupert): Wow, if it was illegal, fun, or nasty, this guy was into it. (edit) Nick: Are you checking out my waist?
Hodges: I'm a, I'm a 32 incher myself... same as in college.
Nick: Oh, congratulations.
Hodges: You know, women aren't the only ones who feel the pressure to look good. Time was, having a rotund belly was a sign of prosperity and success... now, it just means you're a lazy glutton not getting any. (edit)

Factual error- When Jim Brass is in the hospital; the heart monitor/defibrillator reads and sounds the “rhythm” ASYSTOLE (which is flat line, no electrical activity in the heart). The nurses come in and deliver “SHOCKS”. Asystole is a non shock-able rhythm in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); it is a “paced” rhythm. Ventricular Fibrillation (V-Fib) and Ventricular Tachycardia (V-Tach) are your "shock-able rhythms.
(edit)
When there is the "Code Blue" in the hospital after Catherine talks on the phone with Lindsey, Grissom and Ellie seem to hear the noise and come out of Brass' office to see what is going on. Brass has an office in the hospital?

Nick must walk very slowly. It was night when the CSIs went to the crime scene. It did not even look close to sunrise. Nick starts to walk towards the bridge to look for the victims head. He reaches the end of the bridge when it is at least after 7 AM.
Response: He could have been combing the bridge very carefully for the head. (edit) In the scene where Sofia enters Caleb Carson's house, you can see a picture on the mantel of the fireplace. The picture is of Robert E. Lee (sitting), his son Custis Lee (left), and his chief staff officer, Walter H. Taylor (right).
The photograph was taken by Matthew Brady a week after the Confederate surrender at Appomattox (edit) The scene of the re-enacted Civil War battle scene contains a very improbable event. When the Confederates begin firing an explosion is seen and a man is seen being flung in the air forward about ten feet. This stunt is done with a springboard type device that was first used the movie Gettysburg. Civil War re-enactors are very safety conscious and would never use a device like this which is designed to be used by trained stuntmen. But, they did get one re-enacting aspect right. Most of the re-enactors in the scene had their guns pointed about fifteen degrees above level, which is something that real re-enactors are taught to do, in order to avoid powder burns and accidental blank charge discharges, which can injure someone if the gun is pointed at the face or the body. So here the scene was rather accurate and true to life. (edit)

Sara: Maybe for Scarlett O'Hara.
Scarlett O'Hara is the protagonist in Margaret Mitchell's novel, Gone with the Wind. This story takes place around the outbreak of the American Civil War. (edit) Bobby Dawson: Snap, crackle, pop.
This is the slogan of the popular breakfast cereal Rice Krispies. (edit) Grissom: ...re-read Moby Dick.
In the episode "Committed", Sara mentions that she read Moby Dick.
Also, the original script only said "Read more books. It was William Peterson who specified Moby Dick during shooting.
In the movie Gunshy (1998) which starred WIlliam Petersen as Jake, he talks about the book Moby Dick written by Herman Melville about a whale as one of his favourites and also reads it during the movie for MIchael Wincott's character. (edit) Catherine mentioned "Belushied the victim" to a woman who is questioned in his death.
This refers to the late comic John Belushi who died after a woman gave him a speedball; he was later found dead in his motel. (edit)
