Episode Number: 358    Season Num: 14    First Aired: Friday November 15, 1996    Prod Code: n/a
Over five years ago (from the series-ending in 1991), ruthless but irresistible J.R. Ewing lost his vast family business, Ewing Oil, to his archenemy Cliff Barnes. Distraught and humiliated, J.R., Confronted the devil himself and fired one shot from his gun. Now, we learn that J.R. did not commit suicide. He's very much alive and planning his return to power.
J.R.'s younger brother, the decent Bobby Ewing, has a loving relationship with his own 18-year-old son, Christopher, who has inherited Bobby's honesty. Bobby's lonely, of course, since the death of his beloved wife, April, and his loneliness is amplified by the emptiness of Southfork, the massive ranch that used to be filled with the tumultuous Ewing family

John Ross: (after JR appears screwed by Cliff because he sold Ewing Oil to Bobby and Sue Ellen) Dad, I don't understand, why are you smiling? You just lost Ewing Oil?
J.R.: Son, you don't understand. Ewing Oil is back in Ewing hands. Your Uncle Bobby is no longer going to sell Southfork, and is back in the oil business. I am the Chairman of the Board of Weststar. Your mother is back at Southfork, and you are going to remain in Dallas to learn the oil business under the best damn oil man there ever was.
John Ross: Dad, when you say it that way, it appears you'd planned everything to work out this way from the start.
J.R.: See son, you are learning already. (edit)
