Ever since Damon Pampolina was six years old, getting onstage and performing in front of a crowd was something he was good at and enjoyed.
Whether he was singing at his elementary school's talent show or dancing at parties where his father, Phillip, was working as a disc jockey, this Houston, Texas native was a show stopper!
So, it was no surprise when, two years ago, "D" (as his friends and family affectionately call him) was chosen out of thousands of kids to be a member of Disney's Mickey Mouse Club TV series.
And, it was even less of a surprise when, earlier this year, Disney put together the singing group The Party and chose brown-haired Damon to sing and dance catchy tunes like hteir current single, "I Found Love" at venues around the country.
Although Damon loved starring in a weekly TV variety show where he was able to show off his many talents, being in a band and touring from city to city is what really captures this April 4, 1975 birthday boy's heart!
"I'm really into music!" exclaims Damon enthusiastically. "Television was really fun. But, nothing compares to touring. Music is my background, so I feel comfortable singing everyday."
Another reason why this 15-year-old performer is so comfortable being a member of The Party is that he feels perfectly at home with his bandmates - Chase Hampton, Albert Fields, Deedee Magno, and Tiffini Hale.
According to Damon, he and his fellow music-makers are like brothers and sisters and best friends all rolled into one!
"I consider a true friend someone who is there for me and will support me 100% even when I'm in trouble or a little down," reveals Damon. "And everyone in the group has certainly done that for me. Whether they've covered up for me when I messed up a dance step or were just there to lend an ear when I needed to talk, I knew I could count on them."
The special bonds Damon has with his bandmates have made it easier for him to be apart from his family (which includes parents Phillip and Ginger and his older sister Carla, whom he refers to as "Honey") behind in Houston while he tours with the group.
"At first it was an adjustment because I was used to having my mom with me on the set everyday on The Mickey Mouse Club" admits 5'5" tall Damon. "But, now it's kind of like going to summer camp. There's so much to do and I'm with my friends having fun, so I really don't have too much time to think about missing my family. But I am looking forward to performing in my hometown and seeing everyone again," he adds with emphasis.
