In order to frighten off the others, Morgan throws a grenade. They then make their way to the ocean, where they climb on board a rubber raft left there by Mu-tan.

It was OK. Not good but just OK. At times, Danger Island really bores the hell out of me but there were many savoring moments that made me watch it til the very end. Recommended only if you have time to kill. hide « show »

A mixture of adventure, mystery, thrills, and slap-stick comedy, this kids' cliff-hanger series is a classic to those TV viewers who grew up in the 60s. hide « show »

Adults who watch Danger Island today will probably find it silly, poorly acted, and cheaply made. But kids -- particularly FORMER kids who watched the show when it first appeared in the late 60s in segments on the Banana Splits show on Saturday mornings -- will appreciate the simple pleasures it provides.

Danger Island was really quite an eclectic show. It combined elements of adventure, mystery, thrills, and slap-stick comedy. Yes, the production values were cheap, but it didn't really matter. The show had heroes you cared about, villains you feared and hated, and adventures that kept you on the edge of your seat. It had characters to root for (Link and Morgan), to laugh at (Chongo), to admire (Prof. Hayden), and to lust after (Leslie).

Make no mistake -- this is a show for kids... and for adults who were kids in the late 60s. It's a retro classic to those of us who remember shouting "Uh oh, Chongo!" at recess.
