In 2007, Daniel dropped out of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew because he was acting inappropriately with a fellow rehaber. In 2005, Daniel dropped out of Celebrity Fit Club because he was addicted to pain killers.

While in Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, Daniel became romantically involved with his chef, with whom he got pregnant during his stay and later married.

Daniel and his wife, Joanne Smith-Baldwin, had a baby girl on January 17, 2008. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. Her name is Avis Ann Baldwin. This is Daniel's fourth child, but Joanne's first.
