Wilkerson: You tell the Colonel that he has my word.
Lieutenant: Be sure that your word is good, Senor. (edit) Wilkerson: Too bad, Boone. It was a valiant effort. You have me but you've lost the battle. (edit) Wilkerson (to Daniel): A lesson in military strategy. Never let the enemy slow you down. Shoot him first. (edit) Daniel: Your concern is very touching, General. You always doctor up a man after you shoot him? (edit) Daniel (to Wilkerson): If you even swallow loud I'm gonna turn that shifty hide of yours into fishbait. (edit)

Nitpick: neither of the two Spanish lancers who attack Daniel and Wilkerson appear to be Spanish. They both look like Anglos.
(edit)
The real James Wilkerson was Governor General of the newly acquired Louisiana Territory and a real traitor who was in the pay of Spain. He was supposedly involved with Aaron Burr in a scheme to break off a huge chunk of the Louisiana territory and form a new nation. Burr and Wilkerson were both later tried and acquitted of treason but evidence which might have strengthened the case against them was not introduced at the trial.
