Daniel (to Onatha): The river makes a mighty chilly bed.
(edit)
Ruth (to Daniel): Remarkable meeting an acquaintance in these parts.
(edit)
Daniel: Mr. Ruth, I don't buy and sell people.
(edit)
Ruth: So you're one of these sentimentalists who don't believe in slavery, huh?
Daniel: I don't know that I'm sentimental about it. I just don't believe in it. (edit) Daniel: So you're a professional slave catcher. You told me you were a hunter.
Ruth: Yes, a manhunter. (edit) Daniel (to Ruth): We're a long way from civilization. There's only one thing that's gonna prevail and it's not arguin'. (edit) Nimrod (after scaring away the Hurons): It's better they hadn't seen us at all but as long as they have it's better they think we are devils. (edit) Ruth: So this is Nimrod's route. Straight into the haunted land of the Hurons.
Church: Nimrod's probably the one that haunts it. (edit) Daniel: I think maybe we're being followed but not by Hurons.
Mingo: You mean John Ruth and Millard Church. (edit) Ruth: You're a fool, Boone. Those are slaves not people. They don't feel about things the way you would.
Daniel: They feel the same way. You have to want freedom pretty bad to walk all the way to Canada half naked and barefooted. (edit) Naomi: You a long ways from your people?
Mingo: In this condition about a thousand miles. (edit) Nimrod: I'm the one that almost killed Mingo. I'm stayin' by until he's well. (edit) Daniel: Think they've stopped runnin' yet?
Nimrod: No, and I don't blame 'em either. (edit) Daniel: Nimrod, you're on your way.
Nimrod: Yeah, on our way to freedom. (edit)

Nimrod: Yeah, on our way to freedom. (edit)
Nitpick: once again we see a pretty odd casting choice by the fact that Vic Tayback plays a Huron chief in this episode.
