The Perilous JourneyEpisode Number: 42 Season Num: 2 First Aired: December 16, 1965 Prod Code: 8414 |
Daniel and Rebecca finally get to take a long delayed honeymoon but it gets interrupted by an officer of the Continental Army with a confidential message for Daniel to deliver to New Orleans.
| Writer: | D. D. Beauchamp, Melvin Levy, D. D. Beauchamp |
| Director: | John Florea |
| Star: | Patricia Blair (Rebecca Boone), Fess Parker (Daniel Boone) |
| Recurring Role: | Shug Fisher (Jake Tench) |
| Guest Star: | Steve Ihnat (Tyler), Alan Napier (Lord Brisbane), Stacy Harris (Captain Grant), John Orchard (Stone), William Fawcett (Shopkeeper), Albert Carrier (Marquis De Lafayette) |
The climactic scene on the pier where Daniel brawls with a group of thugs looks like something straight out of Batman. It's only heightened by the fact that guest star Alan Napier also starred on the aforementioned show.
(edit)
Daniel appears without his buckskins and coonskin cap in this episode.
(edit)
Rebecca (about her dress): I don't think Salem styles are up to big city standards.
Daniel: You look plenty good to me. (edit) Stone (to Tyler): I find I have no talent for assassination. (edit) Rebecca (to hotel clerk): Don't you think I know my own husband when I see him? (edit) Daniel (to Rebecca): You're just about the last person I expected to see here. (edit) Daniel: I never was real good at makin' pretty speeches.
Rebecca: I've noticed that from time to time. (edit)

This episode has a historical inaccuracy when it shows Rebecca reading a book on a stagecoach to pass the time away as well as one of Daniel's letters. The real Rebecca Boone was illiterate.
