Manticore sends out a signal ordering all the escapees to return to a site where unbeknownst to them, awaits their death. While harboring a group of muddle Manticore escapees, Max is captured by a man who job it is to exterminate the remaining fugitives, leaving only Alec and the X6's to rescue her. Meanwhile, Lydecker contacts Logan when he gains information about Max that could be dangerous if it falls into the wrong hands.

Normal: I’ve heard some lame excuses for missing work but faking your own death for a three-month sabbatical is a new low.

Soldiers: Yes, ma’am.
Max: Starting with your blind obedience to Manticore and all it represents.
Soldiers: Yes, ma’am.
Max: Which means you’re gonna stop calling me ‘ma’am’ and start calling me ‘Max’.
Soldiers: Yes, ma’am. (edit) White: Are you familiar with the term ‘junk DNA’?
Max: Layman’s terms for base pairs that don’t contain viable genetic information. Doesn’t do much more than fill space. Kinda like that gray, squishy thing in between your ears. (edit)

The Manticore creature "Transhuman DAC" looks and sounds very much like the alien creatures, the Drac, from the 1985 movie Enemy Mine.
