He is the brother of Josh Berman who used to be a producer on CSI. (edit) In addition to playing Assistant Coroner David Phillips, Berman is a head researcher for the show CSI. (edit)

David: The actors [on CSI] are a joy to work with. (edit) David: On CSI, everything is big. Over the top. (edit) David: Did you know that an eyeball will melt at 167 degrees Fahrenheit? We never used that in the show but it's one of my favorite facts that I can't really forget. I don't know how anybody actually knew that, but someone was convinced. Not 168, or 166, but 167.
